2 trades short on gbp futures 2 contracts and short gbp/jpy. You'll see on futures trade I passed on 2 possible long entries, I passed the entries because price was still inside of keltner channel and bollinger bands. this method is most reliable when bollinger bands expand outside the keltner channel and price gets stuck between bollinger band and the keltner. Excellent week time for some fun(after a long nap).

Thank you sam69.

There is nothing special in my trading but I have the following simple rule that I follow everytime I trade.

1. TREND - find the trend
2. MOMENTUM - check ADR / ATR
3. PULLBACK - wait for it (counter move against the trend)
4. BREAKOUT - locate & set (use the supertrend)
5. TRADE MANAGEMENT
_____ENTRY : Breakout of Supertrend
_____EXIT : Peak of Supertrend on the opposite side / Trail Stop as trade progress on your favor
_____TAKE PROFIT : 2:1 RR, depends again on ADR / ATR

Here is a visual example of the 5 rules.

I usually set trades before Frankfurt, London Open and watch only 2 pairs only.

I watch pairs with high ADRs and ATRs for good momentum and choose the pairs that I will trade (greater than 100).

MACD will confirm that the price is ready to move before the price breakout on the supertend.

The GRID helps me to easily identify where to set my ENTRY, SL & TP it also prompts me when price is near 10 week high/low as set in the indicator.

I encounter STOP LOSSES also in trading this method (no method is perfect anyway).

But still managing CONSISTENCY & DISCIPLINE in my trading while PATIENCE & FOCUS plays a vital role on this range bar method.

isko your exits are perfect...many compliments.

The idea of looking at adr and atr is interesting, that indicator in your picture, where can i get it, please?

Here you go, but this is for MT4.

You can type in a maximum of 20 pairs you prefer.

Mind to check the symbol, some brokers symbols are uUSDJPY or USD/JPY or USD/JPYm in the Input section.

i have to confess you, first times i saw your screenshots i tought "this guy will do a disaster when market will be in ranging". I tought this because supertrend is the best on trending market but maybe it is too slow for ranging market. Contrariwise you know your stuff, you seem to be one of the best in this thread and i'm learning a lot from you, and from other guys too.


Regarding the indicator, do you have the mq4 too? I need to do some customization in the code...(it doesn't works with indices)

But then again, you are actually correct, supertrend is great with trending markets, but it can still be manage during range markets. I myself will wait for the trend direction from breakout, wait for the pullback and again wait for a confirmation. But if there is none to be traded, I will be on the sideline and wait.

That's why before trading, I am looking at the ADR/ATR that will help me pick a good pairs to trade.

Forex is a waiting game you know... hehehe! So patience is very vital on this business.

With regard to the Indicator, I am sorry that I do not have the .mq4 copy, I have downloaded that indicator from other forum as .ex4.

@ isko,

your exit on the picture @ 6330 ...i think your tp was predefined /set @6330 with 1:2 RR/ otherwise we wont see a Peak of Supertrend on the opposite side @ that price yet, i assume supertrend would be change when the price goes to 6340/45 ...or im missing something?

sam69... yes my TP was pre-defined @ 1.63300.

i assume supertrend would be change when the price goes to 6340/45 - yes and that will be your next stop order entry level for a short trade.
