Well, it's been another morning where market orders prevailed over limit orders. Not the greatest start to this last week of this journal, but I'm sure we can pull back the lost pips.

Cancel trade #76 and #77 to wipe the slate clean.

I did a couple of market orders on loonie when it broke 1.14 and cable when it bounced back above 1.85 but today, the journal is down -64 pips on it's orders. Annoying I didn't have time to edit the trades, but nothing that can't be caught up with in the coming days.

Unlucky with the usd/jpy and usd/chf. The hazard of trading pin bars before set up is complete, also real early in the week. I was watching beobs and buobs and noticed that had these trades been from those they would have worked. Usd/cad hourly and eur/chf weekly have good outside bar action too.
Anyway your thread is what started me looking and it ended up a lesson in outside bars, thanks. Do you know if there is any special detail on trading outside bars other than the obvious?

I missed the opp to buy right at 1.1400. Uptrend still intact. Keeping a tight stop on this one in case the failure to cross 1.1450 makes it dip to 1.1375 area.

Hey Swami,

Well, today was just a day the trend turned on me and I wasn't up to profit from the Asian moves. I don't think I know any secrets or anything to trade outside bars. I view them in context with other technical aspects and it usually comes together nicely.

Yes, I know. The plan was if the consumer confidence was much lower than expected this would trigger the trade and a moved price away from the option barriers up around 117. This could have started a downtrend and after the weekly pin last week, we could see a serious drop. But so far, price is still hovering up there.<!-- / message -->
