Official cash rate left at 3.5%, as expected

  1. RBNZ says New Zealand dollar level is unjustified, unsustainable
  2. Says prudent to pause before considering more rate
  3. Expects significant further drop in New Zealand dollar
  4. Expects some rate tightening will be necessary
  5. Expects economy to grow 3.7% over 2014
  6. Sees inflation reaching 2% in Q3 2016
  7. Raises Q1 2015 GDP forecast to 2.6% (vs. 2.4%)
  8. Expect house price inflation continue to ease
  9. Reserve Bank of New Zealand raises 1Q 2015 GDP forecast from 2.7% to 3.2%. 1Q 2016 forecast from 2.4% to 2.6%.

I thin the NZD is in a narrow channel from 0,827 to 0,81xx 170 pips width area that will be their home for a time.

Keep in mind this words "The exchange rate has yet to adjust materially to the lower commodity prices. Its current level remains unjustified and unsustainable. We expect a further significant depreciation, which should be reinforced as monetary policy in the US begins to normalise." Right from the RBNZ monetary policy statement.

Yeah buddy that isnt half of what will come yet just keeping adding. We just going straight down from here. Dont be surprised when we get mid 6's in less than a year from now. Nothing ever a guarantee but very high chance

Wheeler said "no comment" during Q&A when asked if RBNZ had been intervening these last weeks. Would make sense for them to be leaning on NU while the USD runaway freight train was going their way. NU selling has had hardly a bounce in the last 8 weeks - seems a bit unnatural.

waiting for NZDUSD to crack the weekly Kumo cloud = 8178 50% level.
if it cracks it and has a daily close below 8161will go short for a Target @ 8078, 8040, 8012

It'd be lovely to see a break of the recent and end-2013 supports soon. NZD continues to expect a lower level, and USD continues bullish with good expectations of FOMC next week... Staying short for now.
