Similarity Trading - The ZZBB Method

Yey I don't think it is unreasonable to see lower levels! it is just that price has been going one way covering large distance and for a decent amount of time without significant retracment. So it is unreasonable that we continue like that without major retracement wave before 1.20, and in this particular situation it could be few hundred pips and violent. What do you think

If you look at the Weekly chart I posted. You will see that the first green arrow, happened after how big a drop? Why do you think it is unreasonable? You are making a big mistake placing demands on the market. You are creating this expectation that the market MUST retrace. That is why you are hunting for bottoms and tops. You are not reacting to the signals the market tells you.

Why does it seem we MUST have a bottom here on the 1H to start a retrace....



when.... the Weekly shows this.



Why not go with the established trend which got started in MAY? MAY, JUNE, JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER...... it's only complicated if you start making demands on the market. It's the other way around.

Directional Bias: Short
Trading Goals:
30-40 pip trades for EURUSD and AUDUSD
Position Trades for GBPUSD AND GBPJPY, looking for 800-900 pip move.

Short GBPJPY 1.7780
I will evaluate this on both intra-day basis initially, but looking towards a long positional trade.

The shorts on GBPJPY and GBUSD didn't materialise and I only took 5 pips each after moving SL.
So they've been invalidated. The directional bias is still holding but will wait for a better entry.

I completely screwed up shorts on AUDUSD and exited with 5 pips but did not re-enter. I was stupidly moving SLs in place too soon when the market reversed and took me out and then proceeded for a 20 pip drop. I won't chase it.

Instead I'm long EURAUD from various positions at 14505.

My first post.....and although the ZZBM doc was amazing - I didnt quite understand the settings on it!

What made me smile though is I had fallen into BB and zigzags by luck and liked them alot on my graphs but now more to look at rather than a type of champagne hehe

Wow, I haven't set foot in this room for a long time and it feels kind of weird.
The reason I haven't updated this thread is that my personal style was changing due to ever increasing work demands on my time.

I love my trading and I also love what I do at work (Systems Manager) and I do get the weird freedom to access trade sites and FF at my desk.
But my intraday style and workload was getting the better of me and since the end of Aug I had slowly been shifting away from ZZBB.

This isn't because it doesn't work. I could have adapted it to Day trading. But the problem for me is the position size.
In addition, the new TZ concepts and the research I'd done on it revealed some process related issues with my trading.
This was significant enough for me to question the risk of the issues and so I have basically altered my trading plan significantly.

I still use ZZBB because it is now permanently in my brain. The things I know to do are multi-time-frame MTF analysis and splitting 1440 min into different indicator settings on the respective timeframes, eg. 15M = 96, etc etc. When relating patterns to TZ for example, isn't it interesting to note that TZs also alternate between Tops and Bottoms just like ZZBB.

So the knowledge has not been lost - simply been commuted.
At some point I will review the pages here and put re-summarise. This was an attempt to replicate my initial experiments with ZZBB (turning 5K into 15K) but I was too discretionary and changed many things as I experimented - not scientific!

But I am glad some are still getting benefit from it. It's not the be-all-and-end-all... just another gateway to learning Similarity.
