In the backtest when I set the pointsgap=2000 and modifygap=10, no trades are opened, and when i set these inputs to zero trades are placed

why is this happening and when I live trade shall I keep these inputs to zero or this error is just happening because I am backtesting?

You'd better forward test at least using Demo account so you can check on log files if there is something wrong with the EA or the settings etc. Using backtest will never give us information about slippage or widened spread at news time. Pointsgap is a good filter added by Alan to prevent activation of trade outside the specified time. I myself never backtest this good EA because the result will be different because on real account we can get slippage on our orders, even our SL can be slipped far away. Therefore using demo account on news time will be very profitable, but on real account most of traders lost money because of slippage and widened spread. Spike trading is dependent partly on brokers/liquidity providers of the broker , so try to find good STP/ECN broker such as Thinkforex etc.

MPC Official Bank Rate Vote gave 40.1 pips (120.30 USD) profit on pair GBPUSD on 20-8-2014, unfortunately I put very small lot (0.3 lot).

Core CPI USD 19-8-2014 didn't cause a big move on UJ because the deviation was only - 0.1%(less than - 0.2%).

Core CPI CAD didn't move much yesterday. Hi drBBMM,

I have been very impressed with your news trading. I am also with ThinkForex, but only a standard account...
My question is where did you get your on-screen slippage data? I have been looking for something like that for a long time...

I would greatly appreciate knowing where I could download the on-screen indicator from...

The trick is if you put TP of 100 pips and TP is 1.68 but your entry was 1.6710 then you have 10 pips slippage (1.6800 - 100 should be 1.6700 but entry was 1.6710). I think drBBMM types the actual value on the screenshot afterwards

This was working splendidly up until last week, and now I cannot get it to open any trades. I downloaded the newest file posted here, and that one I can't even attach to a chart. Anyone else have any idea how to fix it? I ran the debugger and had 0 errors found. I'm baffled, but that's 2 news days now that it failed to even open any orders.
