Paying a vendor (or funding an account) via BPAY is the most efficient and reliable methods for australian bank account holders. I have written software for vendors that processed thousands (upto 80K transactions daily) of transactions from BPay, direct debit, internet banking, cash, cheque etc. BPAY is the most reliable client-initiated payment method. All payments to a "client" account or segregated bank account means that it has to be applied to a trading account. There should not be any 'un-applied' payments especially from Bpay since the trading...

Yes its a mystery as to how they could lose this type of payment. Its reliability, speed and cost (free) is the reason why I chose this method. Ive used it for hundreds of transactions over a decade with out a single hitch until now. It never occurred to me I could have a problem with this type of deposit and I just wasn't prepared for it with any back up method.

Doug, it is still not too late to complain to the FOS if you feel that your funding was not applied on time and causes margin call which causes losing trades and let all of us know the outcome.

I don't believe I have any legal claim. The lost deposit did not directly cause the loss as ICM have stated. My argument is that it was the lack of confidence in that deposit method with ICMarkets that caused me to seek an alternative when the need arose. That process caused the funding delay which resulted in the loss. In hindsight I wish I had just tried Bpay as I would have a much stronger claim but at the time, there was no way I was going to hand over 10k and see it lost in the system again.

To my mind ICMarkets are 100% responsible because if they didn't lose my funds I would have just made the required deposit and I would still be happily trading with them today. Despite this, I was more than prepared to negotiate a settlement and naively believed ICMarkets would come to the table. But they didn't have to. They can misplace your funds and accept no responsibility for any consequences as long as they hand them over after you prove the deposit was made.

The consequences in my case was two thirds of my year to date profit wiped out. 18% realised drawdown on capital and, having to fess up to my partner that I had lost the money. I had to come good on my promise to stop trading the red and green thingies and hand over the funds for a new kitchen. All because of EURO short positions taken at 1.36 and targeting 1.35 that ICMarkets closed out for me

9 year failed trading career over even though the account is still in profit and the call was good. Im disappointed and frustrated and really wished my broker could have got my back after what was clearly at least some culpability and after all Ive done for them. If they had met me half way or even a third, I would have remained above my loss threshold and I would be praising them as heroes now like I used to.

On the upside, we really do need a new kitchen

I am currently in chat with IC Markets about my MT4 XAUUSD and XAGUSD charts. The 4hr candle count goes as follows:

00:00
05:00
09:00
13:00
17:00
21:00
00:00

Can anyone tell me if they are having this same occurrence on the same charts?

Thanks.
Yes have just finished chat with tech support and they are looking at the same thing (it is on the live platform, not sure about the demo). It was caused by an adjustment of the rollover period in March. He is taking it to upper management for it to be rectified.

Not sure if you are trying to use the old build 500 method or the 600 build. From the open terminal go to "file>>Open Data File>>MQL4>>Indicators". If you have no indicators on the chart there will be no "indicators list".

It appears IC Markets has a Bpay issue. It has taken 4 days so far a deposit I sent through this system and no funding of account as of yet. The last I heard from support was a reply email to the copy of my receipt I sent that said: "We are in the process of locating your deposit and will credit your trading account as soon as this is complete".

The accounts division has gone home for the day now and still no deposit. This can only mean one thing. My deposit is lost in the system. I have never heard of an institute "misplacing" a Bpay payment. I'm sure I would know about it they did as I pay 90% of my bills etc. through this method.

So this said, it appears you might have a case Doug.

Finally funded into the 5th day. It took another chat session to get funded and another 30 minutes of my time.....

They keep trying to blame the client (me) or the banks for the delay which is bs and I told them as much.

I have not used Poli. But Poli requires you to enter your Bank's internet banking userid & password on their website.

I suggest changing your password immediately after making a payment. Entering your internet banking id/psswd on another website is like giving your credentials to a 3rd party which won't sit well with your bank. If in future unauthorised transactions are made from your account, the bank could blame you for providing details to a 3rd party.
The other more secure way is to use a Bank's that provide a token that you use when you pay someone e.g. HSBC (and CBA if you asked for it). It means it requires what you know (user id & password) and what you physically have (your token) for internet transfers.

Paying using Poli is the way to go in the future.

Ahh ok. That is probably the reason I haven't used it in the past. I will refuse to give those sort of details to a 3rd party. I have been a victim of hacking and know its capabilities. Even a so called "safe sight" isn't safe. If my bank account can be broken into (as it has) without a password then I'm sure this would be easier. (Was reimbursed as it wasn't my security that failed).

Entering your number on the banks secure site is different from sending it through the net to a 3rd party where it can be intercepted. Also who knows how they store that info and if it is safe.

This thread gets more and crazy by the minute.

I have been using Poli for years and have not had to ever enter my bank details into any site other than my banks to use the service. An Iframe (or similar) is used which is only ever your bank.

Don't want to use it, then don't. Want a simple bank instant payment system then use it. No skin off my back.

You guys ever used it, or are you just making wild assumptions???

Yeah Poli is great and instant. Its just an instant bank transfer you can use without any fee. Wished I had been aware how good and fast it was but I assumed there would be a sign up and account approval delay and a learning curve. I am using this method for all my deposits with my new Broker, cmc markets

It appears IC Markets no longer care about this problem. I spent over an hour talking to support and their attitude is because they have a 45 minute rollover period in the middle of one the 4hr candles they don't care when it starts. So the 4hr candle system on the metals charts goes 21:00, 00:00, 05:00 then normal +4.... fkin ridiculous. They kept bringing up their 45min rollover period which is complete and utter bs as it has absolutely nothing to do with the most important 4 prices that make a candle i.e. open, close, high, low. Worst experience with support I have had for a long time on any broker.
