Thanks A. for your comments. Yes I am bullish gold to around 1350-1375 area then down to below 1000 long term. This idea is not working at the moment but the jury is still out on this one imho

Hi Olu, IMHO the $ has made its final jump up, any further move up will be limited. I am looking to buy gold.

I see the ending diagonal on your chart. True if this plays out price should go down. I somehow dont think it ready to fall yet rather my wave 3 idea might be extending. The rest of this week will tell.

Seems like Gold decided to drop really hard from FOMC. Wonder if its able to bounce from here.
A 1 pip gain is better than a 1 pip loss.

Just saw the overnight price action. The market is trying to hold 1280 area but we'll see what happens. I did not expect that price will be down here before a substantial bounce towards 1350. It is either a prelude to a rally or the journey south to 1000 area has already started in earnest. I will be considering my options more this weekend. Technically further incursions and closes below 1280 are not helpful to my idea about a rally to 1360. Fundamentals can change things though...

It seems to be consolidating on Weekly. Guess we need to break the 1270 - 1330 range to find out more. I wonder why its dropping with all the wars going on.

I hear you A. Fundamentals are not helping Gold at all. We have other fundamentals like US$ strength, dropping crude oil and the possibility of deflation. The problem with using fundamentals is knowing which one is the leader at any point in time. Fundamentals are good for a general overview. We as technical traders will have to believe its all in the charts or at best pick an instrument whose price action aligns with technical and fundamental analysis at the same time. Easier said than done though

I'm actually more bent on thinking that technical charts will always overcome fundamental views. Fundamental views rely on technical views. So technical views would take the lead. Although I was surprised last week when Gold started shooting up because of the unrest in the Middle East. I have a Bullish Gartley in the making though. Perhaps I should have stuck with it.

Hi Srt

That rounded bottom sure looks rounded. I am allowing for some upmove in my trading but I am very bearish all the grains. The grains have been sold silly and an upmove (max 400) basis dec.) should be expected at some point even if it is just to take profits. This would also allow the indicators to unwind from oversold. I'm am a member of the sub $3 corn party...eventually

Hi Olu,

I've been watching for some sort of bottoming. I tried buying a call spread Thursday but didn't get filled. I might try again this coming week. Fundamentals are pretty good but we can open the valves more anytime we want if supplies get too tight so no shortage anytime soon. In the Bakken Shale (oil/nat. gas field in North Dakota) they burn off $100 million of nat. gas every month as it's not worth the trouble to save it so easier to just burn it as waste. Pretty amazing they don't come up with something better to do with it. Longer-term I'm a bit more bullish as we're building more infrastructure to compress & export nat. gas.
