I am using Nihilist's RSIOMA indicator and finding that when the thicker line crosses the thinner line, that can can be used as an entry point across any TF. Just follow the direction the thicker line is moving. Also, preferable to look for divergence as a confirmation for the trend. Is the TrendCycle indicator built off of this? Or are the other indicators built off of RSIOMA? RSIOMA seems somewhat more accurate than TrendCycle.

Well, that earlier signal would have worked out perfectly. Not 100% sure what is best combination yet. If its one trigger condition (with others already confirmed) or if i need 2 or all 3 at same time. Also exits are definitely a work in progress.

I am not sure if Trend Cycle or RSIOMA have any dependency on each other or not. I know that RSIOMA is needed for CSM to work so SCM is dependent on RSIOMA.

I like the RSIOMA indicator to as well as Trend Cycle. Both can be used as an Oscillator type indicator.

Have you tried the original templates posted on here, that would be a great place to start for a good combination. Exits you can choose, there are several listed on the thread, just have to look a little. Hope it helps brother.

Then you will have to come to some arrangement with the owner OR pay to get it decompiled. I do get where you are coming from though. It is one of my main concerns with indicators that dont have the mql. My worry is that i will find it indispensable then metaquotes will do something stupid (or something else stupid) and i wont be able to use it anymore. At least if you have the mql you can always recreate the method on another platform.

I believe there will be some paid for services that should be able to decompile the ex4 but i would only suggest as a last resort.

So in other words, you are giving advice here to make something illegal (decompile) with the indicators of the thread starter ?

I did first suggest coming to an arrangement with the OP. To be honest i think that if you share things like indicators etc on a public forum then there should be some rules. I know a lot of people will disagree but hear me out first.

In the software world we have several types of open source license. I am pretty sure most people who create/share indicators etc could find a license that is appropriate. The company i worked for created productivity tools for Microsoft development environments. A few of these tools have been shared as opensource on codeplex. I have also created derivative works based on these and now i am self employed it is not uncommon for me to be asked to provide the source with a sort of escrow service so if something happens to me or i simply cant be bothered anymore my customers are not left in the cr*p.

So the way i see it (as a developer who has shared code before) there are 3 real choices. Either charge for the product and be prepared to support it (or face a court case if things go belly up), Release the source at the start under an appropriate open source license or make a commitment to release the source if you can no longer develop it further. So for you to suggest i have not respect for the coders work is pretty pathetic. In fact its because i do have the respect for the usefulness of some of the work released that i believe we need to have these rules.

As things stand there really is not much point trying to build a long term working system around what the OP posted. The stuff works today but all support for pre 600 builds of mt4 is ending. Its pretty much a certainty that at some point in the next few years (if that long) any indicators, EAs coded in the old mql format will also not be supported in future MT4 updates. So where does that leave you?

Hello my brother MataNui,

I understand where you are coming from. What you are saying makes sense and I respect it. Also I respect the coder like you do. He has been asked many times before on this thread and off this thread to share his work and he stated he does not want to. We must respect this because ultimately he is the owner.

We can ask Tim Cook CEO of Apple to have an Open Source software, right? I own an iPhone and feel that I should be able to customize my iPhone, but in the end the company does not want to go this route and still I buy Apple products. Why? Because I enjoy it. What happens if everyone disappears from Apple?

I will cross that bridge when it happens. No need to worry about that now. What happens if we get hit with a big Metroid tomorrow, or we become a one world currency? Will the code do any good then? Let us cross that bridge when it happens and enjoy what we have now.

If our brother Nihilist decides to share he will with us. He has been nothing but kind to us. Let us respect how he decides to share his indicators to us. Hope you understand my brother.

Its not quite the same. With Apple there is a commercial imperative as they charge a fortune for their devices. In the case of many indicators posted on this and other forums (not just by Nihilist) they are given freely so there isnt really any commercial reason not to release the source.

I guess what i am trying to say is i understand why the poster asked for the MQL and i provided an answer. AND its an answer we all may be thinking about some day. You all probably got emails from your brokers about pre 600 builds stopping working in a few weeks. For most people this might not seem like such a big deal but it actually has some important ramifications. For example it will no longer be possible to backtest offline charts such as renko and range bars. We used to be able to backtest these in the mt4 strategy tester by creating a dummy server. With build 600 the server structure has changed making this impossible. If you still have a build 509 then you can still do it but when build 509 stops getting a data feed then thats it.

One day (probably pretty soon) there will be an update that renders all indicators etc programmed using the old mql (proper mql4) useless. Its an obvious and logical upgrade path since the eventual aim will be end of life for mt4 and easy transition to mt5. ALL OF YOU need to be thinking about this if you are actually making money out of system such as this.

Nihilist. If i offended you earlier then i apologize. But the truth is that unless posters like yourself are prepared to make some commitment regarding eventual source release or creating indicators for mt5 also then threads like this are ultimately pointless since it wont be possible to make long term profits.

Yes, they are free of charge and are good for nothing. No thank you, the Nihilist Forex Indicator repaint. I have a pretty better one in mq4.
Such a general remark after reading a few recent posts. I like FF because the people here tend to help each other and respect their work. Unfortunately, recently begins to be here as a forum for Polish whence fled. Please do not keep doing the threading on FF dumpster. Each post should something enter in the thread and allow to develop their skills. Respect yourself and respect others. If you do not intend to write this - just do not write. Thanks.
