I have placed my selling landmines all over 0.8580 - 0.8650 (fibo 50 and 38.2) region

Kiwi is ready to fall after breaking weekly trend line support as well as middle BB

The July candle in the Monthly chart shows a strong dark cloud over so I never doubt if it could ever reach 0.87 unless it could regain the broken support in a weekly closing basis... Be careful when setting your target

I want to say NZ economy has changed since 2009. They built very tight connection to China, but not like AU. I think this pair in in long bull mode with corrections.

Watch out for NZD unemployment numbers that is considered to drop 0.2% later today. If we don't reach consensus you could be right.

That also means not reaching consensus. Even just the expectations can push it up alot. We still have 12 hours to go. I hope for better than consensus

In the Forex market there is no such thing as a melt down on a daily basis. The monthly chart suggests a downtrend is looming which is fully expected. Even if you value one currency pair over the other, they all retrace and the NZD/USD is long over due for a breather after all it's been up-trending since 2009. When it tried to break through the 2011 peak it failed. It will probably take another month or so to confirm a down trend but you can still go long for great trades but remember you may be going against the over all trend.

Unless a massive quantitative easing is announced with a particular currency or a natural disaster takes place, I personal wouldn't bother with news reports too much. A meltdown would be 200-300 pip drop within a day and that hasn't taken place in a long time.

Terms such as 'meltdown' are obviously subjective matter. We had 0,92% drop in NZDUSD within 6 hours, so it felt legit to use it. Nothing else i can add to that.

But... something else you pointed out was curious to me. Interesting fact about 200+ pips meltdowns in NZDUSD is, that last time it happened was 21. and 22.9.2011 (not 1 but 2 consecutive 200+ pips drops!). Also, it was last time when daily RSI dipped under 30 twice within 1 week (went slightly above between). If you check daily RSI, you'll see it happened now again for the first time since then - dip under 30 RSI on 30.7.2014 and again today, less than week later.

I've been trading forex for 13 years. I am new to this forum though. Still this being said you only lose in forex if you exit a position. As long as you have enough margin you should hold onto the currency even if it goes the opposite way.....long term it will come back and make you money.
I held the yen long for over a year and made almost 100k on it. I'm doing the same here for nzd.

.8700 is in the next 1-2 months........just watch. it doesn't matter what happens short term. monthly and longer term charts are what you look at.

february to may we gained 700 pips.
June to july we gained 400 pips.
August to whenever we will gain hundreds of pips....
