Since the trading week of 4/21/2014 AUD/USD's biggest drop from the weeks open has been 151 pips. This happened on the week of 5/19. This data is based on 30m opens.

As of 12PM GMT on August 1, 2014, we have -114 pips from the weeks open.

EXTREME low on AUD/USD currently = .9130

EXTREME high on AUD/USD currently = .9547

"No trade zone" (area of indecision) is from 9269 - 9357

I made my statements based on full sets of data up to 23:30GMT 7/31, but I do agree with that possibility (making 9320s). I'm seeing it on today's (8/1) data which isn't complete...either way, I'm ok with holding longs right now and adding to them..

rba dovish (g stevens smack down a few weeks back) (prolonged drop)

My short is a longer term trade. AUD is in a longterm downtrend. a lot is pointing to this being lower in 3-6 months

my switch was based on what looked to be a technical breakdown in the pair last week being backed up by fundamentals suggesting the pair is overvalued.

I'm no expert, but there are plenty of experts saying this could be anywhere down to 80c (long-term S/R).

i think it's a good trade. your thoughts?

Yes i agree it is the beginning of a long downward run for the AUS, i'm stil yet to enter my long term short

I do happen to agree - a pop up to build some momentum wouldn't surprise me in the least though - you know, that period of "why in the world is it moving this way?"

I tend to play a little more medium term...I don't see 80's as a possibility at this point....but, again, a shorter term view than most..extreme low I see at this point is in the 9130 area....again, probably not without a little bump up before that though...

Looks like the aussie falling here, nice pin bar confirmed on the news, always my best trades are the ones that happen on the news(more volume going in I guess)

RBA Rate Statement and Cash Rate have had positive effects for the AUD in the last 4 occurrences.

Anybody know what dictates whether it will have a positive or negative effect regarding this release?

The current trending pattern? What time charts? 15m to 30m to 1h? Assuming the Rate Statement will most likely have a neutral effect....

I have observed over the last 2 years that this forum is very quiet when Aus is going down but very popular when it is going up or looking like it is going up. Doesn't anyone like making money on the way down? Money can be made in both directions people.
Maybe it's because when you short sell the high yield currency, you should pay a lot in interest
