Please teach me how to place a trade based on Forex Factory calendar. On Tuesday 22 July at 5:00am AUD RBA Gov Stevens speaks, which currency pair I could trade? AUC/CAD or CAD/JPY, do I Buy or Sell?

hi all...

I'm studying and using the SuperTrend Indicator from 1 year and I'd like to know what you think about this setup;

Settings:
1) SuperTrend on Daily at 1 period and 3 multiplier
2) SuperTrend on H4 at 21 period and 1 multiplier

Rules:

1) entry on same color D1 and H4
2) exit on TP, SL or H4 changed color


I've used manually with good results but I'd like to have more ideas to do better...

what you think about this setup?

What do you define as "changed color"? If you do not wait for the candle to close you will have many false entries.
Remember, Red. Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things...

The reason I ask, systema, is that if you wait for closed candle color changes to open and close your trades, you will not be profitable. You can backtest this manually over a course of a year for different pairs to come to the same conclusion I did.

However, this indicator is phenomenal at getting you into large trends as they first begin. In my humble opinion, a TP must be defined if you are to trade like you have described.

One other test I have currently going is enter at first indication of trend change (color change) even if candle is not closed. Of course the indicator repaints as price moves up and down the trend change boundary until it establishes a position. If you have an EA enter and exit trades as the color changes like this you will get slaughtered on the spread. The most I have done is set a timeout so that when a trade closes do not enter into another trade on that pair for 30 minutes. This is still being tested.

Hi Xaphod,

On your web site you have xSupertrend 1.600 available (which incidentally cannot be download). Is this the same as the one you've posted here, even though it appears as v1.0 on MT4? Or does v1.600 simply mean Built 600 ready?

And VirenSFX, your Dashboard version does not appear to work correctly.

Your dashboard is displaying on a H1 timeframe. The first pic was taken at 4.50PM. And the second one at 5.00PM. Notice that instead of just introducing a new H1 candle, it also ended up repainting the earlier H1 candles. This is not an MTF indicator, so it shouldn't have any candle close issues. Please advice on this behaviour. Thanks.

The indicators posted here are the original indicators for build 509-. The zip package labeled b600+ here is just the compiled build 509 source code. They run just fine in build 600+ but do not compile successfully.

The indicators on my site are source code files that have been updated to be compatible with build 600+. Which in this case means they compile under build 600+, work with the strict property set and have a description property added.

Ie, they are essentially the same as the build 509 ones but compile correctly under build 600+

I noticed that the B600 version on your site only comes with 3 indicators. Have you decided to do away with the rest:

You are welcome. Updating the indicators is currently not a priority. I'll get round to it eventually. I think I have updated most of the indicators thus far. Reasons are:

  1. Time, or lack thereof.
  2. Bugs in MT4 build 600+ leading to time wasted chasing problems related to bugs.
  3. The build 509- indicators still work if one uses the compiled versions which have posted.
  4. A utility program that can be used replace the '.' char in the parameter names in all my indicators, thereby rendering them compilable in build 600+ is available on my site for those who must compile them in build 600+.

I was wondering if you have a version of the following indicator.I know you did not code the changes to this but this one does not compile.

Edit: Added the symbol name to the name of the indicator in the window. Please redownload.
