Well of course Ctrl-Tab and Ctrl-Shift-Tab will flip through the open charts in their current "order" and the reverse of that, respectively.

Their order can be adjusted by clicking on the tabs or windows (if they're not maximized); (this determines their "reverse order", sort of back-to-front).

One could even change "Ctrl-Tab" to "Space" by using an external program like a keyboard remapper; MT4 at least allows no way to change the hotkeys.

Also of usefulness to you might be Alt-W which brings up a list of all open windows, especially efficient sometimes with a lot of windows (tabs) open. (Use File-->Open Deleted if one is accidentally Closed).

Good morning or afternoon whatever the case may be.
Would somebody be able to please steer me in the right direction.
In the example I would like to change the Relative strength indictor into indicator window 2
and the stochastic oscillator into indicator window 1 therefore switching the positioning of my indicators on the chart.
Seems simple but I haven't been able to nut it out. Maybe I have a bug.
If somebody could help that would be great.
Appreciate your time
Kind Regards
Anthm

Open a new chart and add stoch first then RSI. Whatever you add first will be window one

Nice to see that this thread is still being read 6 years on.

However, I'm not sure how much of the info in post #1 still remains valid, following the release of MT4 build 600. Hopefully it's only the programming language that's been changed.

The following used to work prior to build 600, don't know if it's still the case.

1. Save the workspace as a new template (menu option: Charts --> Template --> Save Template).

2. Go to the templates folder and load the .tpl file (same name that you saved it as, in step 1) into a text editor (e.g. Notepad).
In the file, each subwindow is defined as <window>.....</window> from the topmost one, downward
and each indicator as <indicator>.....</indicator>
Move the text from (and including) <indicator> to (and including) </indicator> from any window to another window, however you wish.

3. Save the .tpl file and exit the text editor.

4. Back in MT4, load the template (menu option: Charts --> Template --> [template name]).

This may or may not be quicker/easier than what was suggested in post #824.

Sorry, I'm not quite sure what label/line you're referring to. Could you post a screenshot?

In the first screenshot below, I've typed "This is a line" into the Description field, and it displays at the left side of the line (see red arrow). Whatever I type into the Description field will be displayed.
The font/color/size of the description can't be changed. If you want to control the font/color/size, you need to create a separate text object.

Note that to have the descriptions displayed, you must have "Show object descriptions" checked ON (see second screenshot).
(Press F8 first, to obtain this Properties screen).

Not sure if this is what you're asking. Also, I'm running MT4 build 610, I don't know if it works in build 646.

Hello all
I have a problem I was wondering if someone could help.
I have just opened an MT4 demo account with a different broker.
I am trying to get my profiles and templates from my old MT4 broker to my new MT4 broker.
I have two problems.

A) When I go into My old program files of old broker and go into profiles a) I cant see all the profiles that I have created that I can access on the MT4 platform itself ( and yes compatibility files viewer enabled) some profiles are in there but not all.

B) When I copy the existing profiles and templates that are in my old brokers program files and paste them into my new brokers program files and then launch new MT4 platform the files are not visible . Example, using new broker platform I go to charts template load template, ( the templates I have pasted in the program files are not visible) likewise with the profiles they also not visible.

Hopefully I have explained my problem so someone can understand and help

Kind Regards
Anthm

Hey, your a gentleman,
That saw me right, I been doing it the old school way through the program files, doesn't seem to work with the new build. Doing it on the platform works and lots easier.
Thank you, well received

You're welcome.

In fact, the new builds (600+) have a new path for the working folders.

Hi,

Is it possible to add some Lot as my "default" lot list as i open New order ?
Some times i need a fast action, and as i want to put 0.2 lot order, i can not find it on drop down menu, so i must write it manually.
This is wasting time. Any idea ?

Thanks in advance

I think mt4 "remembers" the last lotsize. Another way would be a script which opens the order for you (sl/tp also possible), ...
PM me with coding requests and I'll probably put you on my ignore list

Thank you Alifari. I can get the default (just 1 value) Lot now, but Is there another way to put "all" of lot from: "0.1 , 0.2 , .... 0.9" ?? I mean, i want to replace the 0.01 , 0.02, ... , 1.0, 2.0, .... from drop down menu. Just want to see: 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, .... 0.9

Sorry, i did not write it clear before ....

Thanks
