aud $10/pip
eur $12.50/ pip

my 1 lot aud buy is equivalent to 100,000 spot, i make $10/pip, i'm up right now $160 so far on this trade...
i don't have to go for 100-200 pip trades. 30 -40 pips on aud, es eur, gbp, turns into a really nice day...
ES ,gbp, and eur are usually 2-3 lots per trade..

no, you are buying 100,000 units, for $125,000, so you get $12.50/pip

That's strange I get $10/pip/lot for EUR/USD and 1 lot = 100,000 units, , margin requirement $136K with 1:1 at the exchange rate of 1.36

I was actually surprised to discover not too long ago that my aud exchange on my broker was with the euro, I always thought it was USD. I was lazy for a long time and figured p/l with pips but decided I needed to know $ aims for a strat I was using. I was glitching the wrong amount for ages till I worked it out.... just the above conversation reminded me of the math I was doing.

Are you looking at the 5m topping pattern on UJ Ken? No confirmation yet but if it breaks I may be tempted to short it.

sorry Ken, you are right... the $12.50 is ES tick value, 4 ticks per point=$50 per point.
sorry. i was looking at es when i posted, a little tired right now...
i never really think of the values, cuz i only look at the money counter during a trade...

Hmm, I just looked at the dow... I may hold off on that and just try to buy lower.

Yes I closed at 102.19.

Painfully slow 2 days about 70 pips. Without NFP it's going nowhere.

If your account base ccy is EUR than all converted to EUR

I can't figure if the USD is going to reverse or fly again, I'm still waiting for a secondary bear candle to follow the first....

I'm really enjoying Gold lately though. I have gone back to scalping for a bit and the pips are pouring in... I'm a bit worried when this happens, you know what they say about when things appear to be to good to be true...... but having fun

Edit: Bear candle on EU for example (AU isn't a good eg.)

not that this is worth anything, just some rambling...
facts: big money is behind all moves in all markets, markets are corrupt...
all gov'ts are corrupt, take money from corps and special interest...
because gov't officials are being paid, they will say and do whatever they are told...
learned to do or expect the opposite of what these trustworthy people say.
if stevens and friends say aussie should be lower, its because they were told to by some larger forces.
there is a reason why he was told to say this...
somebody or group of bodys will profit from this in some way no fundamentals can ever determine.
point is if public was told things are bad, most of the public will sell.
if so, who is on the other side of the public selling? someone has to buy...
don't put such heavy trust in these people of power, they are just employees....
applies to all traded markets...
