I got so tired of friends and ex-coworkers asking me how much money I make every time they see me. It got to the point where whenever someone asked me "hows the market doing?" I'd tell them "get f***ed, you don't care. You wanna know, go look that shit up yourself"

:nerd:Only 21 posts here. What a shame, I probably should start a more juicy thread. This one must be boring. Truth just has no value.

How about a skydive trading video showing a trade being enter within seconds of jumping then closed with profit before making it to the ground. Maybe add some special fx and aliens as well.

it's a warm summer morning here..... i'm looking out the window at the empty deer feeder in my profile's picture..... but thinkin of years ago when things were quite different than they are for me now.....

i was introduced to trading before ever going to school.... my grandfather worked for tretolite, a division of petrolite which sold chemicals to oil companys in the kansas thru texas oil belt..... he had premium first hand knowledge..... as you might expect he traded oil stocks..... my grandfather and his brothers would sit around the table talkin about buying 2 or 3 shares of this well or that one..... but the best part was riding with him to the wells while he worked..... it was an adventure.....

fast forward 12 or more years..... for some reason they talked less about trading.... why.... i have no clue.... but as their talk waned, for some reason my interest grew inversely..... however, trading takes money..... so do baby diapers ..... priorities said, my trading had to wait.....

but trading did not leave my mind.....

fast forward 12 or more years..... every week i would buy the barrons magazine and scroll thru the prices..... i was fixated by ibm's weekly range...... even more so the weekly movement of ibm's call and put options..... i had a burnin desire to trade them...... however, trading takes money..... so do kids clothes..... priorities said, my trading had to wait.....

but trading did not leave my mind.....

fast forward 12 or more years..... one day by chance, i walked into a office just off natchez street in new orleans, which i believe was tied to the chicago mercantile exchange.... it was a quite office with really only the occasional pa system type squawk box blastin out what sounded like "Murk", but i later realized was " Merc ", short for mercantile, continued by some order or quote needed..... i will never forget that sound...... "Merc"..... i was hooked .... managed to scrape up a few dollars and opened small account with merrill lynch on common st ...... i had a very good job.... it paid very very well..... still it seemed like i was always waiting on that next check..... trading takes money..... so does kids college tuition ..... priorities said, my trading had to wait.....

but trading did not leave my mind.....

fast forward 12 or more years..... schwab, datek, etrade brokerages bust onto the scene.... daytrading, tech bubbles, ipo flashes , nasdaq crashes, metastock, esignal, chartsmart, tc2000........ and now with money to burn....... and i did....... in more ways than one.....

by chance, a couple of internet friends working at metastock went to work for ibfx.... their move intrigued me.... enough so that i opened an account there...... the rest is in the pages of forexfactory history.......

Interesting thread... I'll toss my story in..

I started trading when I was 15 years old.. Around 2001.. I wanted to get into trading since I was 12. I saw an ad in my local paper a mentor to teach how to day trade at the time it was for futures.. So I got all eagerer up, decided to do research and typed in Google "day trading" First results came as FOREX. I didn't know what it was at the time.. Forex? HUH who what.. money? Lots of it.. Leverage thousands. I'm IN! So it didn't take me long an hour to get swapped in to Forex with ads being bombard and the so called "EDUCATION" Will teach you to trade for FREEE! Yes we said FREE GIVE US MONEY BUT ITS FREE! INSERT money because its FREE!

So I gathered $2,000 my parents.. God bless them.. and lost it within 2 days! Awesome great 1st experience.. You don't even get joy in it.. just misery lots and lots of misery! having to explain to your parents how your road to riches has ended in 2 days was just as depressing. but I got more money put it in and this time it took me a WEEK to loose it. Making progress! took a whole extra 5 days 2nd time around..

So.. Depression is piling up and 15 years old dreams of being the next millionaire are fading quickly. So i did what everyone else does and lowered lot sizes until I reached mini from a standard.. I felt like I demoted myself 10 levels.. but at least the losses have been lowered down too..

I kept on losing and putting in more and losing.. But I did something and I knew that if this losses are flipped around it can be profits, and that it is possible, I am just not doing it right so I vowed to myself.. or better yet made a promise. I won't give up or give in nor will I be beaten by this. I won't stop Until I figure it out and turn it around.

13 years later.. I have created a successful system. I'm not rich yet, but I'm building one step at a time.. I combined a lot of different principles.. one mainly is compounding interest.. start small and build each profits lots grow in size and we tweak it by 0.1 lots.. Similar concepts exists on FF they called in certain system Grids.. but I just use the concept that my losses are limited.. Statically they are.. because I have figured out the limitations of Forex.. So bla bla bla.. I have a working system, and I'm 75% on my road to achieve my goal that has begun 13 years ago.. YES it took me a while, I can't say I was a child genius, BUT I had enough persistence not to give up! to continue and I did.. And right now. I am trading Full time, I have no other job.. I devote my full time into Forex for 17 months now.. I am on the road to earning 6 figure income from Forex and then 7 figures and then 8 FIGURES?! Who knows.. Forex can afford it!

I know a lot of people get disappointed, discouraged and its not easy.. It was not easy for me, I am just to stubborn to call it quits. Every time, I failed and the list is LONGGGGGG. My failures could be world record. It just made me more determined to succeed. Every failure should be added motivation to get it right. like the OP said.. I did bring it to a simple level.. I took something that is complex, and I brought it to a level of simplicity.. Once Forex is understood, it can be simplified.

I wish everyone out there.. To know it is possible!! It takes hard work and determination and lots motivation and support, but it is possible Forex is 2 way street it can give just like it takes.. Its just harder to get it to give then to get it to take. So keep your chins up, keep your fingers on the clickers and remember that Greed and Fear are emotions that should not be used to trade with.. Find a way to become emotional neutral traders. I did it by making a mechanical system, like that I don't care what forex does in terms it does not bring out any emotional responses.. All I do is act like a computer.. Trading is still fun, pays the bills, and Does not stress me out or send me on anxiety attack at 3 Am.
