Thank you for your explanation Xaphod. Just re-read the "TDI breakout alert - for entry/exit" thread and realised you had not written 'TDI_mtf+alerts 2 b600+', but cleaned it up for B600 compilation. Apologies for making that assumption. I will clear it out. Thanks again.

I'm wondering if you have the MTF TDI Indicator (the lines, not the matrix) for build 600+?

I've tried a few but none actually works, or my screen freezes up.

Actually I've tried the TD-MTF-zz-Matrix indicator, but I'm only getting "up" colors and not down colors. Could you give me some pointers please?

Hi Xaphod,

Which of your indicator would you advice to use with the latest MT4 build:

TDI-MTF v1.03.mq4 - Indicator 1
or
TDI-MTF v1.06.mq4 (you put up in Post#183) - Indicator 2
or
TDI-MTF-zz.mq4 - Indicator 3

v1.03 seems to show the additional volatility bands. The TDI-MTF-zz offers smoothed display, but provides different values.

What do you advice in view of some of these differences? Thanks.

Both the TDI_MTF indicators have volatility bands. Set the colors to show if they are set not to show via the indicator property dialog box.

The TDI-MTF indictors repaint the TDI for all the bars on the lower timeframe representing the higher timeframe bar until the HTF bar closes.

The TDI-MTF-zz keeps the TDI value of closed lower timeframe bars. It shows you the value of the higher timeframe TDI when the lower timeframe bar closed.

Which you use is a matter of personal preference. They all work as far as I know. If you are doing visual backtesting, The TDI-MTF-zz will show you a more accurate representation of the data.

Perhaps I should mention that the files I posted have the required indicator that is called via iCustom embedded (TDI-RT-Clone and TMS-basic). So, they have no dependencies and should eliminate all the 'I installed the indicator and it does not work' posts you have to field.

Is there a tdi-mtf version for mt5. I would like to try it with 6H, 8H timeframes which are available only on mt5.

There is no MT5 version here. Have you tried doing a search on the web?

One option would be to use offline charts in MT4 via the period converter script. You can generate any timeframe you want in MT4 with it.

Hi,
Anyone tell me why this multi time frame indicator does not update? If I switch to higher time frame and back it will but usually not.
It is the TMS-Matrix 3TF.

Check for and report any error messages.
State which version of the indicator you are using.
State which version of MT4 you are using.

I am using MT4 version 4 build 670
The indicator is TMS-Matrix 3TF 1.600
And hopefully the image below shows the array out of range (299,45)

That is a call to iBarShift. MT4 is supposed to return the nearest available bar if a bar does not exist at the requested time. Apparently it does not do that. Or perhaps there is no data in which case MT4 is supposed to fetch data for the time-frame.

Now your problem probably stems from the fact that you have no data for the timeframes you have set the indicator to use. Open up each time frame in a chart to force MT4 to download the data. And scroll back to the end too just in case. Or import data or something.

Edit:
It is the Time[] and not the iBarShift causing the problem.
