My post was a personal amusing dig at the previous poster (gbp/jpy) who has long held a very bullish expectation.

Now, I'm sure it is ultimately bullish, ... and everyone here who is a long time GJ watcher is fully aware that when price gets over 173.1 it becomes very bullish again. But, playing the simple contrarian, this is the chart that has always intrigued me. The fact that standard fib retracement levels on this chart also coincide with nearly every place that we paused at or tested on the way up from 117 is probably a huge coincidence. But then, coincidences don't determine direction.

Here's the chart. Look at it and forget about it unless GJ ever breaks under about 163.

same applies to gj weekly, making it more useful to scalp its arse on smaller time frames than to expect big targets

Definitely agree... this thread used to be the best

I've been short for the past week, but I covered yesterday and went long. It was clearly forming a base and with the DOW down over 100 points yesterday coupled with our inability to go lower, I knew something was up.

I'm currently long at an average of 170.45 and planning on holding for now.

Nice, I've been trying to get back in the saddle too but work and life have been crazy. I'm getting married in August and then shooting off for 2.5 weeks in Europe (Venice, Florence, Paris, and rounding it out in Mallorca). So lots happening, but trying to start throwing some more trades on. Also going to try and pop in here more often, see if we can't revive this ol' thread.

The house has been great though, can't believe it's been almost a year now we've been in there!

OK, all. I'm not a big fan of opening up my trade explorers but I like to try and be somewhat transparent. Here's my equity graph since getting back in the saddle (I'll probably update this weekly or monthly and welcome others to do the same).

As you can see, it was a little rough getting back into it but I'm headed in the right direction now. The unrealized gains represent my open longs I talked about taking yesterday. Before these last longs, I made some money on the short side after previously being long, hoping for a solid break of 173/174, and then realizing it wasn't quite time.

Looking at a chart, the overall trend is up. But we've been stuck in some gnarly consolidation for quite awhile. I think that this latest dip down was exactly what we needed to wash out any weak longs and hopefully sets us up for a big break of 173/174 area. An ideal playbook would be that break followed by a run to maybe 175ish, then a retest of previous resistance as support in the 173/174 area where we can reload longs for a longer ride north.

That's my hopeful, current plan at least:

Welcome back Geppy.

To remain bullish, GJ must reclaim 171.5/7 and then break 172.3 ish to then test 173.1 before a fall back.

A drop soon under 170.8 and 170.5 suggests 169.5 then 169.0/1. Under 169 takes it much further down.

Definitely some tough/critical levels above, but don't forget the weekly trend is up, Up, and UP. I've seen her blow through levels like they weren't even there on plenty of occasions. So stay sharp!

Hi guys,

Yesterday i almost out of the game with GJ .
i agree that the trend is up for the week. And i personally go long up to 172.75 (that is my targe for now).
i also believe that 173/174 we will see it maybe on next week. But once my target is reach i will wait until the pull back again and go short again till 171.


i am apologized if my idea may not all correct, i just a beginner and i am happy if u guy correct me.
