I use v66b as shown in the explorer above.

by the way, I agree that TS algorithm right now is good for quick few pips but not for large chunk of pips.
Holy grail, pls pm

Hello iamgotzaa (and other contribs) (Apologies for length…)

It’s so nice to come across real programming (being just a hacker myself). I like to find proper techniques I can maybe use. I had to load your 66b EA though as you all seem to be having so much fun! I just started yesterday so it’s way too early for results. (All my mentors have always cautioned me away from EA’s, but here I am…. )

Anyhow, earlier on in the thread there was an issue with spikes. Maybe you fixed that already, but let me offer this:
An EA I have disappointed me when a big spike came in my favor then fell back to resume whatever it was doing. I wanted to capture that unexpected gain. My solution was a spike detector which would quickly put a trailing stop on allowing price to keep going or capture profit if retrace, then just look for a new signal. The detector would trigger the trail if LTF current bar range exceeded HTF ATR x multiplier. Say I enter on M15 and target is H4 ATR x 1.5, current M5 gives an H1 ATR x 1.2 gain: à trigger the trail.
I wondered if you might be able to use such an approach to solve the spike/SL issue. Or maybe it’s a stupid idea, idunno being just a hack…

I do not now use my detector as my trailer had issues, but that may be fixed now. I expect to work it back in as I go.

Congrats on this promising tool

Hi Needy,

thank you for the idea. please do know that I read every comment from every one testing this ea. I try to put/analysis those ideas and put into next version of ea.

yeah. current version, I'm working on would include a decision making whether

  1. to put a stop loss & where?

    1. in relative to current market trend

      1. small time frame
      2. larger time frame

  2. not to put a stop

    1. favor, i'm kinda sniper
    2. not favor

      1. close, when, where?
      2. speculate reverse

        1. timing

      3. another trade?
      4. hedge?

etc.

I'm learning to create such algorithm. now.

by the way, my background is non-programmer. I am mechanic guy. I am an alien in the programming world.

Holy grail, pls pm

I changed time frame after trade was opened, it seems to have lost important info. I've not verified yet but it seems after info lost the trail does not trail. May also be the recovery does not recover. I will watch and compare.

Am I correct to think Feb66b trades the TF the chart is on? On my EA mentioned above, I use " extern int xTradeTF = 60; " which locks the TF to trade on while I can view the chart or open trades on any. Targets are based on the locked TF, not the current TF.
