Don't worry buddy, while this 'may' be heading up for now based on my assumption of positive employment, we are blessed to have such an opportunity to sell at these prices when this pair does begin to turn No doubt it will. As indicated by an earlier poster, China restricting imports on NZ dairy product is gonna be a killer for the NZ economy, and not to mention a high exchange for NZ is killer also as we are primarily an export based economy given our agricultural production. It's simply not sustainable. For sure, I believe downside will kick in and heavy too, but if I was a banker I sure would want to take out those all-time highs before all of that happening. Infact it would be pretty easy for me if I was a banker to do as well with all the shorting from the retailers providing me the liquidity to do so. Trust me, there will be brighter days after this for us to make some amazing trades from! It's quite exciting..

Be patient till tomorrow morning NZ time.

It goes to fall if Unemployment Rate worse than expencted.
It goes to fall if Unemployment Rate better then expencted because all good expectation has been speculated in the today's hike!

Agree with point #1. Point #2, who knows. A breakout from an all-time high resistance usually sees spurs of activity higher. In the end, time will tell

I agree, i think the job numbers are being priced in now. At the rate it's going up there might be a slight chance it tip .88. What we need is a four hour candle to spike and retrace to suggest it's run out of steam

Ok, well this pair is very very interesting to me right now. I hope it's not being priced in as we speak. Theres no way of knowing as there is always room for a reaction by all those who missed the boat and didn't get the figures as early as some elite others. I live in NZ so am going to be waking up tomorrow to trade the numbers. I'm gonna say this pair could go as high as 0.90xxx before falling. It's just a guess, but we shall see. It is very often in recent stock market:

1. good news, price goes down.
2. bad news, price goes up.

Some of you are over complicating something that's pretty basic here. The rise tonight of the NZD/USD pair has little to do 'pricing in news' or employment or China etc etc. Tonight's move is based around the other half of the pair...the USD. It's been crashing all night as you can see on the USDX chart below......have a look at the other USD crosses!!!!

You could fill these forums with bearish USD and skyrocketing money supply charts, throw in Yellens/Feds point blank dovish, no tightening, dropping faith in labour market structure policy, pin traders to their seats and make them read it day and night for weeks and "some" would still not believe you.

N/U looks like it's worth a reasonably heavy swing short position here...for the patient perhaps. Bit of a sense of jumping in front of a train though.

Looks like painful swaps if you hold that trade for too long.
A 1 pip gain is better than a 1 pip loss.
