Hey Tony, after NFP last week USD/JPY gave back all of it's gains and it never went up 200 pips. Not even close. So, if you moved your SL to break even then you would have been stopped out.

Did you get stopped out at break even?

Hoooraaayyy!!!! As obsessive as it sounds I just finished reading this ENITRE thread. 618 pages and 12,350 posts exactly Reading this for me was a roller-coaster of emotions, I found myself bursting out into laughter one second, while feeling pain for some of the losses experienced, and excitement for the wins.
Honestly, I don't even care that it was a lot of my time, I know this stuff works now. Thank you Tony. I'm glad I have this place. Right now in life theres nothing I want more than the freedom this offers, currently I'm in my first year of university and I'm not enjoying it to say the least, it feels like these days everything is all so backwards. All of the things they tell you about how paying a s***load of $$$ for a 'good' education is becoming more and more far from the truth. I see so many people graduating and still becoming stuck with a dead-end job. In all honesty, people just following the system blindly like sheep will never truly make it, its just a matter of the fact..the world is a sick place run by cruel people.
I've been watching all kinds of motivational speakers and they all say the same thing, to become successful, you have to be different, and create something for yourself through the realisation of a good idea. This way of trading gives us more opportunity than we can even ever imagine, enough to last a lifetime.
This way of trading puts us in the same place as some of the most powerful people in the world. That really is something quite profound when you think about it..
It's done, nothing matters more to me in this part of my life.
I'm young, and free right now, and I just want to be happy. This means doing what makes me happy and not caring about the rest. After watching the movie "Lost In Translation" recently, an excellent watch I must say! Definitely worth seeing if you get the chance. I have been left with this quote that I will always look back upon..

"You'll figure that out. The more you know who you are, and what you want, the less you let things upset you."

I know what it is I want, and I know exactly how I'm going to get there, life couldn't be better! It's true, I plan on being here for many many many more years to come It really is an honour to be able to trade aside long all of you guys. And again, thank you Tony for the inspiration, you have proven to me that it really is possible for those who follow their dreams and live by making them come true, they are guaranteed to make them a reality.

I realise now I may have been a bit excessive in how many news events I posted this week. I probably won't trade all of them for the simple fact that overtrading is never a good thing and can lead to more losses than necessary. It's best to save the most $ for the big whales. Rather I think it might be best if I just choose those which I feel more confident about than others. For instance the NZD quarterly unemployment is something I am eye-balling as I live in NZ and we are apparently experiencing an economic boom right now. With this I will be buying with more confidence than something I am not so well aware of like Canadian Unemployment for example. Of course, anything can happen, and news can come unexpected, that's always a given! There are never any guarantees in FX.
I as well as you would find it interesting to see what Tony has to say about weather or not he would trade all of them as well and more precisely, those events he will be trading. Keeping in mind, this week is definitely a busy week.

Happy to hear from you, don't get me mistaken, I am here to trade only news with impact so that's something that will come with time, experience, and also seeing post 1 updated! To my knowledge Tony has banned ZEW and is considering banning French Flash.
I have never seen Tony take the trade balance news so I can agree with you in saying this is good advice. Best of luck to you soldier

Okay, so my broker will definitely slip SL's and pending entries to their advantage, and also bugger up your trading strategy should you aim for "riskless profit" WTF?

Could you please explain how do you know which pairs to trade on specific news release?

I think the best news to trade every month are the unemployment reports for all of the major currencies as well as central bank speeches, and FOMC events. This week that would include the CAD and AUD unemployment reports and the ECB press conference and possibbly the RBA statement. If you click on the folder to the right of each news event you will find what date that event took place on in the past. Look at these dates and open up your MT4 with the corresponding currency and see what happened when they took place in the past. All we are trying to do is identify what events create big reactions.

I'm not able to set my mind as to staying with duka and trying to figure out a way that works with them or switch to a broker i have lesser trust. let me know what you guys are experiencing!

Nice to see you around, I remember seeing you trading at this thread when I was new here. As for if there is a way to beat these guys, yes, simply just follow Tony's proven method. He's made it work for him, I don't see why anybody else couldn't make it work either. This method has got to be the most simple, yet at the same time most rewarding way of trading out there. If anything can be learnt from this, its that the simple things in life are what work. I really liked the story about how Tony met the girl who eventually became his wife simply by saying "Hi" to her. There is so much to be learnt from this thread. The only thing we must be careful of is knowing when not to trade and to sit on our hands with out taking gamble trades out of haste.

Where we are now in this thread is what many traders have been waiting years to get to, over the years many have gone through all the necessary trial and error only to end up where we are now, that is with a sure way to success and freedom over time, all we have to do is implement what is explained here with the right discipline and due diligence and the results will speak for themselves. Im looking to trade only the "cream of the crop" this week. I would say that the unemployment reports are always the best bets. What is nice is that we get 3 of these every month that are tradable. NFP for the USD, CAD unemployment, and AUD unemployment. That is 3 news events that are always trade worthy. From what I have found looking back also is that central bank speeches tend to have a lot of impact as well. The unemployment reports and central bank decisions are major indicators of the status of the economy as well as what could happen to the currency at the hands of the central bank.

With speeches and press conferences, how do you trade them personally if you don't mind my asking
