me too...I'm having the same problem...most traders do have this problem too..
the only way to get rid of this is to be confident with your own position...the way to be confident is to learn and work hard
I'm grateful to met so many good traders in this forum who are willing to share and help. Now I'm slightly more confident than before.

previously I was using MT5, they dun allow hedging too (actually there's really no point in hedging, we're just giving more commission to broker by doing that)
then I switch to MT4 because then I can treat each trade separately. maybe it helps to separate "long term and small" position from short and fast trade/scalp
I'll try to enter a very tiny long at 1278 and slowly build up position every 5dollar drop till 1260.. just to diversify the risk

hey there mate.. dun worry.. u are not alone, for sure..i am not a great trader, just a normal one trying to earn a decent living but if i may say something..

firstly.. pips777 said is correct.. use trailing stops on profitable trades while setting your SL to BE.. that should get rid of much of the emotions aside.. when your trailing stop got hit.. u will find that it is the same thing when u close prematurely.. (at least thats how i feel it last time)..
another way is set SL and TP and dun look at that counter anymore. try to prowl on other counters for any possible trade set ups..
if u are discipline in money management.. eg: risk 2% to 5% on each trade and only taking 2 or 3 trades at one time.. and set your RR to 1:1 (at least).. then, u will get much of the worries out of your mind on that trade/s and use your concentration on other possible trade set ups.. or simply, like pips777 said.. just walk away from the pc..
it is not easy to do it but u need practise this often.. overtime.. u will find it more managable in your daily trading.. i know because i did that last time.. so sorry.. if my opinion does not fit to u.. just another normal trader giving opinion to another.. cheers mate!

Thanks mate, my strategy is very simple and work for me very well, I am not risking more then 5% and no more more then 2 trades on the same time (that I am doing already long time), most of the time my strategy give RR 1:2 but I fail with that specially after I loss trade, or stupid thing I do I move the SL to BE too early.

Yes the solution is to put the order and leave the computer, Its should not be a problem since its always pending order ... well lots of work for me.

closed 1.5 lot out of 2 now @.@... Holding 0.5 lot left of shorting gold. Shall i unload it now as well or wait a bit more ?

hey Polar big guy.. my TP got hit and small long from 1278 also hit.. ind clean today closed my GBP trade with a little profit.. nice and clean for me today.. gtg.. thats it for my trading.. u take care and good trades to u and to the rest too..cheers!

Whoooa I just missed the opprotunity to go long last night, set my buy limit @1275 but it wasn't got hit, wait for a better price to go long, now I'll be watching the market

Btw anyone has opinion on UJ? I set my sell limit @102.8 last night

Its falling and I have no clue whether to take profit now or will it go back higher. I'm worried its still going to try to hit 1270. All positions protected with BE stop loss, but nonetheless, I would hate to let all this profit go. On the other hand it might form a W pattern (double bottom) on Daily chart. This could mean a steady climb to 1400 within a couple of weeks.

very strong pivot and 200 300 400 SMA on M5, good USA data today and tomorrow can fall down gold to 1260, there is my tp2 (fibo cluster and "flag" near 1300), tp1 - retest double bottom on daily

Hi guys a trade from me today.We got a third touch of the trend line and a pivot point at the same area. I have a small short with take profit at 200 or 300 SMA.Any comments welcomed.

yet again looks like another bearish flag...maybe to 1272 area
