Other than the new PF coming out next Jan., can anyone recommend
a good 4X course for under $100? I prefer either e-book or CD, VHS
formats.

Or, if in the USA go to the library and borrow them for free. Ask about inter library loans from university and business schools from all over the country. It may take a week to get the books but saves $$ since the service is free.

Merlin's right on target. I'd lean towards trading psychology books first, then technical analysis. What I did was look on traderslibrary.com, then price them on Ebay and Amazon. Amazon lets you read a few pages to get an idea of the book. Then unless you want to keep the books, you can sell them on Ebay and recover some or all of your costs. Good luck!
Because helping each other is a good thing.

Has anyone tried the FXCM mini course? If so what was your opinion of it?
It costs about $170.

Are you sure about that low price?

I took the course a couple of winters ago. It was a shotgun blast of a lot of interesting stuff. They taught you about trading, not how to trade. Should have been much more practice with hands on trading. In that respect it did not meet my needs at the time. I learned a lot of things... but wanted more practical chart based learning.

As an educator I made several suggestions on how to teach it much better. Dont know if they made it better or not. I did suggest that they break the course into at least 2 parts. One for complete newbies and another for advanced beginners because some of the newbies dropped out due to the learning curve. Maybe that is why the price seems lower than I recall.

I would really investigate it deeply. Check some other forums or ask to be able to communicate with an instructor. That is the way to find out if it is a fit for what you need.

Go to FXCM.com and check out their website for the course of instruction.

Some marketers call the system they are selling or their ebooks a course. (wrong terminology)

There can be a fine line.
