Hi everyone,

I would like to improve my basic understanding of forex trading and have thus decided to throw myself at written books. You can read a lot of stuff online but there is something different about a real book. I would like to ask you experienced traders what kind of books you would recommend a newcomer like me? A title and just a couple of quick remarks about them would be greatly appreciated.

Anything that James16 posts. Also highly recommend an ebook called"Bird Watching in Lion Country" a book that has helped me tremendously. A very good and easy read.
Technical Analysis for Dummies by Barbara Rockefeller is a pretty good one for those who aren't great at math (like me) and need help wrapping your head around the technical side of Forex. The downside is her book is geared a little more towards stock analysis, but it's still pretty helpful.

I also have read Forex Made Easy by James Dicks, it has some pretty good information in it but it also seems biased towards advertising his own company. I'm still a greenhorn so some of the others may have some better recommendations.
It's a one-way ticket to a madman situation.

I have a fx book for sale, Forex Trading for Maximum Profit - The Best Kept Secret off Wall Street. It is has very high reviews on Amazon.com. However,
I'm selling it because it mostly a technicians book - I'm more into fundamentals. I'll let it go for 40 bucks incl. postage - includes CD. If anyone interested, reply to me privately. I thought I would offer it to forexfactory members before
selling it on e-bay. I have a 100% feedback rating (mmills12a). I also have a fx course from currency college that includes 2 booklets and 8 cd-roms, I'll sell for $75 incl. postage.

Try and get a hold of the e-books Rob Booker put out. I think they are an easy, simple yet excellent read.
I would only add: "Trading in the Zone" by Mark Douglas - Check Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

One source I've found for the books most recommended on the forums is the local university librarys. I live close to Purdue University and found that I could get a free visitors card as a resident of Indiana. The Kranart Business School Library has a LOT of books on trading, charting, candlesticks and psychology. Most Steve Nison books, John Murphy, Ganns and Mark Douglas' Trading in the Zone. Best of all it's free. Three week checkout periods and unlimited renewals. They have all the holdings on their web site and I can do renewals from home...very convenient.
