Hi Guys

Thread's gone a little quiet but I would just like to ask if Nexas especially, and Cellics as well [or anyone else for that matter] is still achieving some consistent success with this strategy?

BTW thanks Nexas for the Thread - nice simple strategy which I'd probably trade by taking half of the trade off at initial profit target, moving stop to b/e and letting the rest ride to aim for a considerably higher target.

Hey Lingsbord,

I haven't been on here in a long time :-)

But yes the strategy is still very profitable.

Thanks

Hi Nexas,

I am new to trading and believe that this system is feasible for me to have a go at even with my limited experience so am going to try it out in a demo. I do have a few queries that hopefully you can help me with:

1. What timeframe would you use for your charts to trade this strategy?
2. What are pivot points and are they fundamental to this trading system?
3. Do you personally have set criteria as to what deems a pullback to be sufficient for a trade or do you go off gut instinct?

Many thanks for sharing your system, any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

Boovda

Please read the thread and especially the explanations given by the creator of this thread, if you had read the thread, you wouldn't ask the first and third question, especially the first question, since the he trades with range bars and he explains it why he uses... hell, the range bars its one of the main points of this system. You clearly didn't read almost anything of this thread.

So please read the thread before asking something.

Sorry if I seem rude but I saw various thread go to sh*t because, people who just didn't read the thread and just starting asking questions.

It's about 365 days since i started trading forex. Believe me.. i have tried trading every thing there's. I have downloaded, watched and tried 50GBs (more than 700 you tube videos), only to come back to check on my computer, and its another losing trade! Like any other beginner, the goal has always been to come across or design a profitable trading strategy that is super dependable. I have several under my belt. But lastly, i have been making up a trend trading strategy that that is based on Renkos and or Range bars. A high probability entry and exit method that is noiseless. Was happy to find something similar on this thread. Thanks Nexas! After reading every letter on the thread, and making a few corrections and edits on mine, the last 4 weeks have been so super promising for me. On each and everyday for the last 4 weeks, i have managed to increase my account by 1-1.2% every trading day!! A sign that i could make roughly 100% in 70 trading days keeping the same rules and MM! This thread has been silent for a while, but i am trying to resurrect it...hoping that together, we can even beat a 2-5% daily growth consistently. It's 5 days to 2015. Some one pack up!! Starting 2nd 2015..we can do this! Happy new year folks!

It's always better to read through the whole thread and and then participate. A thread this long most likely has all major questions answered already. Your question too is. This strategy is based on range bars. Range bars depend on price and not time. Cutting everything short, Nexas already tackled that. Cheers!

From my personal experience, a trend strategy works on all trending pairs. Your task is to be able to identify one. I personally have 24 pairs all laid out on my platform. I scroll through and identify the ones with a clean trend building up or going on already. Those are the ones that catch my attention that day. So think of any pair, punch it on the chart, see if it is trending. If it is, monitor it, trade any good opportunity that comes. I have traded pairs like XAUUSD, GBPJPY, EURCAD, EURUSD, USDPLN, GBPCHF and more.
Keep in touch and let's kill it!
Cheers!

A quick thought, I have no idea what moving average you are using but it seems to have provided pretty good resistance in the past. Where you went in, you were a long way away from "value".

You didn't mention what settings you use for the EMA and the CCI...but i am guessing you read through the thread and used the same settings the owner of the thread _Nexas _advised to use (100 period EMA and 8-10 pip range bars). Anything smaller will create more noise. I advise you to get the same bar CCI he uses as it gives a better visual sense.
Then again, looking at the previous pullbacks on your EMA in the down trend, look at previous examples of good pullbacks and you can try to train your eye to differentiate between a 'ripe' and an 'unripe' pullback. Trust me, it's gonna take you several tens of trades to achieve that art. I personally like pullbacks that are so close to__or at the EMA. One bad trade won't give enough sample space to make your conclusion. Keep in touch and let's learn together.

Using the range bars themselves alone can highlight clear Support and Resistance. However, just like any strategy, traders tend to try to edit...with the intention of making better. Don't take any persons word for it. If you can ensure that you are not deviating so much from the original strategy. You have the liberty to throw there anything else and see for yourself how it performs. Personally, i use 2 other candle stick HFT alongside the range bars chart to filter out almost half of the trades that would otherwise trade against the bigger picture's trend. It's a method ONLY unique to me that i intend to share once i have everything intact. So..go try it out and come up with statistics to prove that it's a better idea. Otherwise Nexas's original procedure on itself is still concrete.

Depending on the RB brick size, you may need more history on your live chart in order to create enough RB candles.

To be honest, i realize that taking News into consideration all the time creates more confusion. Red level news are always there almost every day. It doesn't mean that we stop trading! This Renko/ Range strategy takes into consideration the major trend direction. Sticking to your risk management rules should be able to get you at the top at the end of the day.
Like FarruFX says, a new currency chart on the platform_MT4 in my case_ for the first time needs time to keep running to accumulate history bars. I don't think you have any mistakes...you just need to give the chart time to run to see that.

No. In order to increase the history in the live charts, the max bars must be increased in Tools > Options > Charts tab.
