GDP AUD gave nice result this morning. Interest Rate AUD gave bad result and lost yesterday.

NFP today gave nice result on GU (2940 USD), while on UJ I got whipsawed (Sell UJ Lost -641.08 USD and Buy UJ wan 2931.36 USD ) but NFP still gave profit 5.230.20 USD. If I set Pointsaway 12 or more I could have avoided whipsaw on UJ.

I mean on NFP PointsAway should >= 12 pip (120 points) on UJ (and GU) to avoid whipsawed.

Hi Alan,

I tried to catch NFP yesterday on EURUSD, but the EA did not work.
I opend 5 M1 frames with difference of 1 second between the start times. As you can see in the attached photos EA opend just 4 (instead of 5) buy stop orders and just 2 sell stop orders. More important was that the EA did not move the orders to right position (from the PointsGap position).
Please check the attachments and tell me what I did wrong.

I really don't like it when people say the 'EA didn't work', when even in the attached screenshots I can see clearly that it was working! However, I am quite forgiving because I think daherxdaher meant to say "my trades didn't work". Here are the 3 issues that you probably encountered:-

EAs only run when a Tick is received
All EAs will execute once when a price 'tick' is received. When price (either bid or ask) changes, it generates a 'tick'. So just before NFP, many brokers choose to smooth prices or restrict the number of ticks sent to MT4.

Latency
Most brokers take a minimum of 200ms to open a trade/pending order but this can balloon to 2-3 seconds or worse at busy times like NFP !!!!!

Opening 10 Trades through 1 MT4 Client
To open a pair of trades requires a minimum of 4 price ticks. 2 for opening the trades and 2 for moving them into position. I introduced the PointsGap feature because trades were vulnerable to spikes pre-NFP if they were opened 15-20 seconds before. So to open 10 Trades would require 20 price ticks. Even a good broker is going to struggle to give you 1 tick per second during NFP. So for this many trades 15 seconds isn't long enough. You should also search the thread for the Spread and Sessions indicator which records the price ticks in a logfile so you can examine exactly what happened during an Amazing EA trade.​

Unfortunately, without your logfiles (how many times in this thread have I told people to supply their logfiles?), I can't work out which or all of the 3 problems you encountered. However, I can see that if the first order was opened at 15:29:56, the Latency was 14 to 15 seconds. The other buy stop and 3 other sell stops weren't opened because the system was so slow it was after 'News Time' by the time MT4 was going to open the trades. To open this many trades, you should have set SecBPO to at least 60 and set the difference between SecBAO and SecBMO to 10-15.

If you really want to trade 5 instances of the same pair, I suggest you install 5 MT4s and run 1 EA on each. You still need to set your trades 1 second apart. Then you can reduce your times again. But personally I would choose different pairs or do 2 trades maximum on the same pair.

Are you not experiencing slippage as a problem at all??

Would that be a function of the broker then?

I also don't like it when people say the 'EA didn't work'. That's why my request was "tell me what I did wrong" as you can read at end of my last post. I really appreciate the EA otherwise I would not ask any question here.

I have a suggestion and I hope you will find time to think about it. What about adding of an option to choose the number of orders the EA has to open at once and the volume of each one (e.g. to open 2 orders, 0.1 lot each) and/or an option for partially closing (e.g. to close 0.1 after 10 pip and 0.1 after 20pip).

Hey Daherxdaher...I had a similar experience with several news events with orders being cancelled and was burning my brain at the reason but discovered that my MaxSpread was set at 50 pips (or 5 pips for 4 digit brokers) and the spread exceeded that at newstime and I believe the EA deletes the orders...I notice your spread was set at 5 for NFP...Seems very low for NFP or you have an exceptional broker...

Not to sound like a killjoy or anything but Employment Trades are the worst to straddle. If the unemployment rate doesn't agree with the number of jobs, or there is an increase in part-time and fall in full-time or there are revisions from last month, all of these can cause a whipsaw. Whipsaws are a disaster for Straddlers because both orders will go live but the winning order will be worth much less than the losing order and you will lose money. The best straddle trades are:-

1) No chance of ambiguity because only one piece of data is released
2) Data surprises
3) Market is positioned for a different outcome

Alan that makes a lot of sense and you have been saying this consistently about employment and multiple releases...It was exemplified today with 4 NZD releases and a 50+ pipper whipper...How about a tighter points away and a falsie on the OCO and ride a double profit train on these whippies?

Hello,

I've a new problem. I have the broker Saxobank. I've observed that the market on simulation and on live market aren't the same.
On simulation it's perfect, but on live I have slippage and gaps.

So I'm looking for a broker with thoses features :

- Fix spread (Today I have EUR/USD 2 pips)
- No slippage
- MT4

-Yes. I didn't get slippage at all at Thinkforex until now, IMHO this is the most suitable broker for me because the spread is very low (amazingly I used to record the spread at Thinkforex was as low as 0.0 but it fluctuated to 0.1-0.6), execution is very fast (faster than Hotforex and my other brokers) and never gave requote (Exness nearly always gave requote to me so I left it). I got big slippage at other brokers (FXCM, Hotforex, Exness, Instaforex so I didn't trade news using amazing EA anymore on those brokers).

-The honest ECN broker will pass your order directly to the liquidity provider(s). The best liquidity providers give best price. The market makers willnot pass your order to the liquidity provider(s) and they can engineer the given price for their benefit.

You are right Alan, I lost on AU Employment Change too, but got profit on AU Business Confidence. I used very small lot on this report and AUD/USD didn't move much(The China trade deficit is still a concern for AU).

So according to you, Thinkforex, is Ok to work with Amazingea. What about the spread, there are fix spread ?
