Seriously we traders need to be able to look again at things that have hurt us in the past (our wallets) and profit when a better opportunity arises. This happens to me too. What if you had that 108 short still on? you would probably have added more to the trade now or moved your stop to protect massive profits. I just run like hell and because of that miss massive trades going my way.

So for you Srt the chart for crude oil needs to be added to the coffee chart (for a different reason though)

Yes, I haven't mentioned this since it's a pretty thinly traded market so you don't want to use stops. The spread between bid & ask can often be 10-15 cents with 1 cent = $20.

Amazing isn't it, when you see these kinds of charts.
They give the lie to the notion that the market knows everything, the market is always right etc.

You are right there BW. What do you think about EW. As it operates on trader crowd psychology it tends to really interpret these moves well. I am not an expert in it but I will be taking the certified EW technician exam soon.

Retrace to 9600!? Not this week please I'm short from 9653.

You had me laughing out loud at my desk when I read your post. Ok no retracement to 9600. Well done on the trade Vox. While I am looking to get on board you have about 150 pips under your belt. Are you looking to hold this one for long?

No. Just for the week. I close everything before the weekend regardless. It can retrace next week Thanks btw.

Olu I'm sorry, I don't want to offend you but I don't think very highly of EW. It seems to me exceedingly vague and "in the eye of the beholder" and many, most, if not all charts seem to be interpretable in many different ways. But if it works for you, then that's great. How useful has it been to you in your trading?

Again, sorry, I'm just giving an honest reply. Good luck with the exam.

Hi BW

No need to apologise. To each his own. EW features highly in my trading but it is only a subset of the whole EW theory. Foe example just like I would instinctively sell a bearish engulfing candle at resistance so I would look to buy after a 3 wave retracement that follows a 5 wave advance EW style. I dont get into the tiniest wave counting but it has done well for me.

Give me my candles, some trendlines, Some EW, RSI(14) and Ema 200 and I am just about done.

Ok mate cool.

I'm wondering if Draghi's comments today were an analogue of the infamous "we will do whatever it takes" comments way back when the Euro was getting battered, in other words, a marker for a change in trend, without at the time any actual (i.e. implemented) policy response, except this time they want to talk the euro down, not up.
I have no clue what I'm talking about.

Draghi can bring it on. If (when?) the euro falls it will fall hard. Price has priced in the QE of the BOE and the US but not the ECB's. The re-rating of the euro could be dramatic. Hope I am in when this happens A freight train with no breaks going downhill comes to mind. But I think it will be well managed though by the ECB to avoid the scenario I described earlier
