Hmm Interesting concept FX and it seems that there is truth in this...Will have to check it out....From your recent charts it appears that you have taken a number of Eur shorts....But its a bit crazy because the Aud/Usd today...for me it was a buy and there was a 2 second peak spread of 12 pips + the 7 pip move downward = 19 pips...on a 15 pip SL..didn't stand a chance

Yes, that is exactly why I will only be entering into long positions because of the way that MT4 plots the charts. Yes, I actually lost my EUR/AUD trade tonight because of the spread widening. But, not because the price moved against me because it never did. Anyway, from now on only long positions. That EUR/AUD trade would have been a nice 70 pip profit in like 1 hour. lol

IBFX I was thinking about having a set way of playing the smaller moves... play both sides, and have a 1:4 RR set from the get-go... but slippage like that would ruin the numbers.

I have two accounts...A smaller one at Oanda and the primary one I use at ATC Brokers...Been with then for about 3 years...They are a STP affiliated with FXCM and charge a flat commission...They have excellent spreads during normal hours and I've generally been a trend trader...But over the last month or so, the markets have been really zany with little trend so I wanted a bit of an adrenaline rush and have been trying the news...It seems like many of the brokers slippage is getting out of control during news time..

Nice trade, I'm starting to think that with events that are slightly on the verge of acceptable RR volatility have the potential to be tradeble if they are combined with multiple high impact news at the same time (which may not always be aligned with the same exact news every month). The logic behind it is that the combined volatility does create a possibility of a nice spike and that alone could be worth the risk, perhaps a 10 SL and 40-50 TP for example.

The actual rate decision didn't even cause this spike it was ECB Press Conference and I don't trade speeches so I won't even be trading tomorrow. It will be a nice day off!!! So you are totally correct about the BOE and ECB Rate Decisions. Ironically, they aren't even worth trading. But, I don't know about the Aussie news you been missing. It's been pretty awesome! Have a nice day off!!! lol​

Well, I think I can safely chalk up this week to be a loser

However, I cannot blame the system. The bulk of my losses were due to my own stupidity / hormonalness, not the system. This mornings stuff...The day I change the way I trade the markets moves in a manner that would have complimented my just prior trading pattern hmmmm, someone said something about me having good luck yesterday Not a good way to start your day at 2 am local time. Had I stayed true to my original method, I would in all likelihood not be posting this and would rather have been having a very good day...

Anyway, life goes on, I will go back to my original method and grind it out until the gains come, that was the original idea, many "small" losses with few large wins and all ends in the green at the end of the day....

I've said it before, I need consistency and discipline.

I'm sure we all go through that. It really does take you to a low but as you said, life goes on. Live and learn brother. We shall win the war.

if it helps, visualize this.. on a 4% risk per trade 20 trade losses back to back produces about 50% draw-down but it only requires only 3 wins in a row to regain the account back and have a nice profit.

with 2% those odds become even more in your favour, so yeah survival to produce those profits is definitely worth it! just have discipline no mater what even if the last 2 months were all losses straight it still doesn't matter
