yeah i'd suggest 0.5% if ur going frequent, but honestly i'd suggest do as much research per news your trading and consistently look at past data back to back to see if it is consistent with proper volatility month after month, if it checks out that's when i trade or i don't trade at all. It is better to trade like a sniper than a machine gunner in forex lol

So EUR/CAD ended the day 50 pips lower post BOC Rate Decision. The market was anticipating a rate cut before the news was released. If this had actually happened I think we would have seen a significant rally to the upside in EUR/CAD, GBP/CAD.

The bottom line is that this was a news event I would definitely trade again and I do not regret my loss because it was small in comparison to what the gains would have been. I only lost 3 pips and my gain would have been at least 100 pips. That is like 1:30 (Risk/Reward).

Being in canada i could easily tell you there wasn't going to be a rate cut at all just from the local news and real estate market maybe toward end of the year maybe

Yeah but 3-4 of them I have studied hard and I have a really good understanding and VERY good R:R with a decently high win %

I am still studying more and willing to add more to my list when I think it is worth it

I always go with the market momentum before the news, so it wouldn't even matter where I lived. That is why I only lost 3 pips. Besides, your statement sounds like nothing more than a "hunch". It's dangerous to trade based on a "hunch". lol

Last months Australian Retail Sales EUR/AUD reaped about 60 pips. So, I'll be trading the AUD next up at 7:30 PM EST.

It wasn't a hunch I've been hounding on issue for quite a while, as a housing crash or a rate interest would affect me.. so far it's denial the issue even exists by politicians and real estate agents to their benefit, but we all know the prices are overinflated.

The market seems to be selling AUD ahead of this news. But, that is not confirmed yet. It will take another hour or so for me to be convinced.

Not a good enough R:R for me especially looking at more then just last months charts for this news

Good luck tho Still has a decent R:R but I like to have more confidence in my News trades

Yes, I definitely appreciate that. I also try and physically look back at least to the previous news release.

Anyway, it seems like the market has decisively started to short the AUD ahead of this news release. So, pretty soon I may enter into a short AUD position.

Well, I will be trading the European Rate Decision at least. Last month EUR/AUD saw at least a 130 pip spike.

You would have needed about a 80 pip SL in order to catch it though... Not a good R:R

been enjoying this thread and have made a few trades this week. I just bought EA with a stop at 5272 but it didn't take it out until 5256. SO my loss was a lot more than planned. Does that kind of think happen a lot... is that normal?
