Not enough pip movement on the HSBC final PMI...On the other hand there could be good potential on the AUD RBA Rate Statement...Last month moved 90 pips during news time and if not during news, can also have decent moves (momentum) in the hours afterward..

The last one looks like it was on January 29th, 2014 at 01:45 (UTC) and it didn't do anything.

For me the history of this news has too much whipsaw which I don't like

However it does have potential and in the past has shown good R:R but not my type of news

Recently it has had some good runs but looking back for the past year I don't like the results but still has some good R:R scenarios

Just threw caution to the wind and bought .10 lots of USD/SEK to understand the margins, spread and such.. Never tried it before though I trade the other 28 currencies.. have a 19 pip spread am currently at BE...any other thoughts???

Umm, yeah get the hell out of the trade now before you lose some money. LOL.

Absent any news and you are taking more risks.

Actually if you check the frequency of the news you'll note that its only once a month and on FPA its many times, then i realized FPA doesnt make distinction from reports such a HSBC or Flash PMI they just mix FOUR different kinds of PMI togather and simply label it as "china manufacturing pmi" ... we need to dissect this list; as FLASH PMI was what I saw triggered a 100 pips move... still trying to dissect and analyze tho

I saw you were planning on going Long with either USD/JPY or USD/CAD, from some past results I would advise doing UJ rather then UC because after the release UC tends to retrace back whereas UJ tends to trend on in the direction of the release.
