Wow - 1850 hit already - This market is certainly bullish!!! I'm going to sit on the side lines for a bit and see how well the momentum continues before selling any calls.....

UNG currently tanking and now down 5.3% on the day!

I'm leaving the pending order in at the moment and will see how goes in the next day or two. If it continues to decline in the coming days I will look to sell the 32 or 33 calls....

I'm not so sure. VXX has hardly moved in comparison, with this move on the indexes VXX should be closer to 40 if not below. Also look at AAPL its gone the opposite way

Yes, I agree it is a little strange. Hence, my decision to sit on the sidelines for the moment and see how much momentum there is behind this 'rally'. It also seems there are still a large number of buyers of calls!!!

yeah I been watching that, too. I'm not so sure VIX won't keep sliding, though. Market may be ready to settle into another bullish stretch, taper be damned. I'm not feeling anything contrarian, anyways...

I wasn't ready to see natgas dip, was looking for some more upside on UNG. Maybe it's still in the cards, we'll see.

I'm too distracted today to do much. I had some UNH Mar $77.50 calls that I'd been sitting on for many weeks and sold them for a $0.30 net when I saw UNH had spiked > $76 up this morning.

I was thinking of putting on a bear spread on EBAY, which jumped up today - it hasn't been able to put in much time over $57 in the last year...

Yes, I sold the CALLs but I also looked at selling the PUTs to create a short strangle. Unfortunately the PUTs are a little to expensive for my margin so I will stick with the CALLs for the moment.

Looking at the intraday price for the 290 CALLs, it seems they peaked around 0.7 and I sold them for 0.25 - I shouldn't have left the house today!!!

gl, njr - no, I can't sell naked to any great effect in the accounts I have, so I have to look at credit spreads - might do one on TSLA, probly not, though, best deal I could swing for 2/28 was about $0.15, not bad, but I can maybe do a little better elsewhere.

Good luck, though. I learned my lesson about putting any short action on TSLA the hard way in 2013....first started trading options on it when it was at $35....!....just a year ago. I might still watch the puts against a hard pullback...

looking at HAL, looks set for a fall, will consider Apr $50/$60 long strangle, shoot the $50 puts Wed if Hal will pop higher.

Also watching the ^TNX and TLT/TBT. TLT finished today at $107.50, I'll be looking for long puts if we can get a dollar higher.....

I had a thought. (I know, right?)

Maybe a better way to play earnings spikes is to sell the dotm puts/calls AFTER the ER spike is in. Get a spike up, say, then look for nearest expiry dotm calls to sell after they have benefitted from the move up - which is, let us hope (and often it seems the way it plays out) an exhaustive move.

Example: FSLR, which has dropped 13%+ AH, will now be a ripe candidate for 2/28 put selling. More later...

so if we are heading for a bond rout same as most of 2013 and bull market in equities as well, will gold fall back and resume its journey toward $1,000? I've been watching for DUST to dip below $20 and it was almost to $19.00 yesterday. June $40 calls are $0.90

(If anyone has clues about the weakest pm miner stock - who would lose the most the quickest in a gold turnaround - please post.)

ABX not been able to hold above $21 since the 2013 Spring gold beatdown. Mar $19 puts are $0.13, Apr $18p $0.18...
