Hi Rehab

I didnt see your post before I left for work yesterday morning. I agree with you. The $ is showing signs of strength but until trendlines are broken i.e 8140 on the $ index one cannot say for sure that it has turned. One could take a gamble but then that is not trading. I believe if 81.40 area is broken price could be heading towards 88 so why not wait there is still a lot of $index pips to be made once the journey starts

Below is an AUD/CAD Daily chart, price is challenging 1.0000 resistance and psychological level, the broad CAD weakness is helping so far. We also can see a 6 weeks bullish trend which is still intact.
I'll be looking for longs on daily/weekly close above that level
Alternatively, if B/O fails to succeed, price will be back into the 0.9830-1.0000 and will most likely challenge the ascending channel TL

Hi Olu, you miss-understood my post, my biass is bearish $. I am waiting to see if it will brake that trendline I circled in green or not (then the R area of 78-79, if it does brake the trendline). I am still holding my long gold and long Dow. The situation is tricky and can turn in any direction any moment, good luck

I didn't misunderstand you. I was just talking from my perspective. I know you are bearish. Good luck with those trades. Today will be important for forex. Prices overnight have gone into snooze mode till the news comes out

Thanks for the comeback post. A great trading idea. I was looking at gbpcad yesterday. price was teethering right at the top almost double topping and getting ready to breakout.

Now as gbpaud is moving up this shows that gbp is stronger than aud.. Is there any reason you chose audcad as against gbpcad? Are you thinking gbpusd has gone up too fast? In fact with the eurgbp trying to make a comeback (not today though) there might be an argument for eurcad. Just me thinking aloud.

AudUsd Weekly


How can one expect a slow performance from the $index but expect the audusd to go down? Doesn't make sense in certain respects. But if you look at it from another angle it is possible. The aud just has to massively under perform all the majors even if they all hammer the us$

Thanks for visiting the thread. I am bearish the SP500 but this index keeps going up. So I will be doing what I have been doing with all the other instruments I have a bias on - still trade the other side

Thanks for your quick sharing of your view, Olu. My view matches yours closely. I can see a short term fall coming based on resistance, price action, and multiple divergences, but don't see any convincing case of a long term top just yet.

Im with you and Olu here too and this looks like a good area to dump it but.....this is a very important test underway.
I would like to see it fail again here (with a significant drop) then its sell a rally.
If we climb higher then its follow the idiots higher......its just crazy that the US indexes are this high.......
How screwed up is the market when poor earnings in stocks are blamed on bad weather.....honestly TPTB must think we are stupid......oh wait most of us are

Thanks MPB for your comments. Just as you said the markets are crazy and this craziness is throwing traders. Serious volatility and new correlations have been injected into this market and this for some of us (me included) old well trodden paths are not as accurate. Technical traders who consider fundamentals are not trading with conviction because the markets are crazy. In so doing are losing out of this 'crazy' market movement. So I cant shout it enough we need stability and out trends back

Mmm stability......since we have the US Fed acting like a HUGE Hedge Fund I fear we will not have that for a while despite 'their best efforts'.
I think caution all round is a good idea given the current and future volatility.
In saying all this....as long as we use stops when we trade we should be relatively well protected.
