Just read the report, nothing in it substantial to reason for this rise. Guess, the weak USD is pushing AUD up. But the silver lining is that we have more pips to short once the AUD starts to plummet. Which it will soon.

nope - if it would be week $ EUR/USD would be affected too - it moved round about 4pips that was aussie...

"listen to the news trade the technicals" (C) Stevewalker...

If RBA wants 85 they actually did not say they WANT, statment was someting like "it would be better for the economy..."
If there are no further actions of the RBA why would the traders listen?

We broke above the monthly (February) high of 0.9068, but have yet to move above the yearly high set in January of 0.9085. I would at least wait until a new yearly high is made before going long. That way you have at least one monthly high acting as support.
Back in short here. The risk/reward favours shorts (for me) albeit there may be a bit of pain should they take it higher e.g. to the 100dma or 200dma.
I have no clue what I'm talking about.

If 0.9085 holds, Europe could take it back down to 0.8860, so I'm in for a short with stops above 2014 high (0.9090).

I don't know if it's a trend but the AUD pairs in my observation especially with news releases out of their country move, in a sense, with patriotism
