agree with everything in your post, except the thing with "In short I think your fees would increase...". Isn't it common knowledge that the bigger your size, the lower the fees/commissions become? Of course that is in percent not in absolute numbers.

This is one of the main reasons almost nobody really gets rich in forex. If you would stop trading at a billion dollars, why wouldn't you stop at 900 million? 100 million? One million? Half a million? A hundred thousand?

To achieve the dream of rags to riches, at some point you need to have an amount of money in your FX account that would completely change your life - and you need to have the discipline (stupidity?) to leave it exposed to risk for a long time while it grows. That is incredibly hard to do.

I kind of agree, but on the other hand it's not as hard as you make it. Let's say you turn a hundred thousand into a million. Then you can take out a hundred thousand and leave the rest exposed. When you are at 10 million you can take out a million and so on. That way it doesn't hurt your account growth that much and you can already use some of the cash to change your life slowly. Obviously it takes character to not go overboard with the money.

I am looking for M1-M5-M15 nice strategies that help me to get that billion of dollars you are discussing about along this thread. Anyone can advice me?
Someone has told me that searching for double bottoms waiting for the strong uptrend to appear could be an interesting option taking into account that downtrends die in those double bottoms. As "extract" says in his profile: "This Is How It Ends".

If you figured out how to make 2% per day you'd hit snag after snag after snag before you'd get to $1b.

Brokers / liquidity providers might have an issue with you making so much money so fast (as it's compounded). Initially it wont be an issue, but after a while they'll struggle to be a market maker for your trades. Slippage will start to occur and this will drastically affect your returns, requiring you to change strategies. This change of strategy will be a potentially steep learning curve, depending on what you know about trading large sizes. You'll get to the point where you'll need to move to a broker that can deal with large amounts. That might be a steep learning curve too, that might involve lawyers. There's also real world risk issues that come into the equation because there's such a large amount of money, like security issues (ie, theft) to brokers going bust, etc that will require a team of people to manage. This will complicate things even more. Another issue is the simple temptation to want to spend the money after realising that you have more than you need anyway.

Most people just wouldn't ride that learning curve. They'd get off at the $50,000 level, $500,000 level, $1 million level, etc and enjoy life.

IF I did end up with a $1 billion account, I'd imagine that I would be really savvy with trading forex and know the in's and out's of trading large sizes, using teams of people to help make decisions, know how to manage the money, etc, so I'd probably just continue to trade it.

There is a lot more to it than just saying 2% per day. How do you make that 2%? If its lots of trades just getting a couple of pips your going to run into trouble with trade size a VERY, VERY long time before you get to a billion. If its from a single trade that gets you lots of pips you might go on longer as slippage\bad fills wont be such an issue but you will still hit a wall at some point.

The other big issue is do you really trust any broker on the planet enough to have that much equity sitting in the account to allow you to 2% per day up to a billion?

This is why i get fed up with all the crap comments about how nothing works because if it did, at some point somebody would have all the money in the world. Lots of things work but at some point trade size/slippage/broker issues always kick in like a glass ceiling to limit returns.

If i profit or have $1 Billion or $25 million , I will buy huge land ( for food security ) , few restaurants ( for food ) , 5 house or flate in diffrent countries ( to stay & passing time ) & 5 hospital to cure myself .. few will give poor countries & few ( 1-5 million ) will keep in bank .. & I will enjoy my life .. & will pass a great time without tension ..

With A billion Dollar Account .. i mean George Soros has 12 Billion in Forex and he makes a Billion a Year but he has a company and lots of traders to trade for him so thats entirely different .. But if i have a billion Dollar Account , i would open roughly 20 different Accounts with 50 Mil in each , tie them to a master account via mirror and trade all of them as it goes. I don't know if you guys know this but having a large account like that can sometimes backfire and your stops could be very visible to the brokers, market makers etc.. By the time you figure out what you are doing wrong , you will be taken out. I know most of you will disagree but that's i would do and i'm intermediate going to advanced in forex .
