Hi Everyone,
I would be very interested to hear peoples views on this and get some examples of how Traders manage their full trading capital.
Ok, we know max risk of 2% per trade is sensible so we will stick to this.
2% of 50k = 1k maximum risk per trade.
So if day trading using reasonably tight stops There is plenty of spare margin and assuming that one is making steady/gradual progress There would actually be no need to have all this capital sitting in a Brokers Account. Right?
I think it is more sensible to deposit say 30 to 50% (15 to 25k) of your total trading capital. Keeping the rest in an account of your own rather than in your nasty Brokers.
Still Keeping 1k as max risk per trade because its 2% of your total capital not of whats actually sitting in your account.
Im pretty sure this must be how fx traders manage their accounts.
Any input or ideas/thoughts on this would be interesting.
What % of your total trading capital do you let your broker have ??
Trade well everyone and Blue Skies
