I love the way my broker respects the STOP-LOSS and I'm proud to have never abandoned them for more than 7 years now!

I take it you went long Tony... My broker puts the entire spread on the buy side. Does this mean that one should only be going long to avoid the high spread when their stop loss is hit?

I don't know why your broker does that. Mine applies the spread halfway ... so if you enter before news, you will get impacted of half of the spread.
Current situation on AUD employment : 20 / 2= 10 pips impact on me

LMAO! Okay, so I understand how your broker divides the spread, but I didn't understand your post exactly. I have to re-read it. So does this mean that your SL was hit so you actually were -28 pips instead of -18?

no no... let's say the normal spread is at 1.0.... ok then it suddenly goes to 20.0.
Well if you're already in a current order, on your screen, your loss would read only -10.0 instead of - 20.0 because the spread is applied to widen the distance between the buy and sell price... . In contrast, if you put your trade while the spread is already at -20.0, well, you get -20.0!!!!

Yeah, it is good to enter as early as possible. But, I think Tony nails it with the 2 minutes beforehand. It is usually around that time that the big money knows the news and yet it is still before the masses are getting in.
