Some Data from NFP for pairs i was watching and calculated affect for USD and CAD
NFP News:
USD Negative
CAD Positive News at same time

EUR/CAD 40 Up (US $ negative affect) then 116 Down (CAD affect stronger)
Good trade with later entry) (Mixed affect)

AUD/USD 70 pips up (clear entry)
EUR/USD 53 pips up
GBP/USD 60 pips up
USD/CHF 50 pips down
USD/JPY 100 down in 15 min, then reversed up

Agree about the suddenness of the moves. What is really interesting to analyze is the pips ammount that price moves during the news. For instance on Unemployment Claims price doesn't move too far and it's unable to get many pips.

This week-end I got so seriously intoxicated because of the celebration from recent wins. That I *almost* went into an ambulance. This time I'm very serious and not joking. I was going to call the ambulance for real because I was fearing for my life. After non-stop drinking, partying, driving like Schumacher and all sorts of other things which I cannot include here *during 3 days in a row*, my system gave up. At the last minute I was able to regain consciousnesses by all sorts of techniques. I learned a lesson that will prevent me from doing excessive things like that. It's really really dangerous and I learned it the hard way. It could have been easily worse. I understood that I was not made of plastic or clay and your brain will let you go if you abuse it too much. BTW I figured out mystic things during this week-end, I will post then here. If you want to judge me, do so, I don't care.

1. This week-end I was looking at a black chart from 2007 and I got so emotional. I realized I'm in this for a very long time now. I was looking at archived charts with amazement and I realized how far I've come. And then! I saw that forex charts contain precious stars of the Universe, look carefully. They are light from an infinite time. They can burn you or can show you the way. For you to decide. The tick chart and 5 second chart represents the randomness of our timeless Universe. I've written it before on the thread too.

2. A human can fly. Humans cannot fly: That's what you were told. Its false. I tried it and figured out it's a myth. We can fly. I jumped with my arms spread like wings and found out that I was in the air for 1.5 seconds before falling on the ground. Therefore, I flew! Yes I did for 1.4 seconds. It means that humans CAN fly. It all began when I realized that a humain can fly. Therefore, I spend the next 2 hours jumping from a flower pot into the hotel swimming pool before 2 security guards came to take of my crew and ban me from the pool.

I have skipped many details. I do not plan to re-do what happened this week. I'm sitting in front of my pc and I'm fine.

Based on elementary physics, you were jumping or flying for 10m. Well done!. Your thread is really entertaining. So far I have had only some luck on Aud news. They seem to whipsaw less. Eaud or Gaud are pairs I like.

Happiness is relative... we are never satisfied. Happiness can easily turn in to sadness as well. I'm taking it easy for the next month even if I win this week's AUD trade.

You're 100% right Tony. Humans can fly. Flying is easy, landing is the hard part. I accidently launched backwards from an altitude of 10 feet helping a buddy in October. Yep...4 feet of face to the sky horizontal flight followed by a 10 foot head first vertical plummet that culminated in an instant dead stop on a gravel lot that was as hard as concrete and a broken shoulder. Bone has finally healed but still in physical therapy trying to get smashed muscle and tendons working again.

Alcohol wasn't involved. I don't need any help to do stupid stuff. LOL

LOL and not LOL for the injuries. To be honest, I'm really scared of what happened during my week-end. I'm surprised I look and think normally... must be pretty solid.

Nice but stick with one pair. If you attempt many things you will get confused and lose a grip on your trading. I was multiple-trading the NFP back in 2008... keep it simple.

However according to your plan you say TP is 50, also you mention of a Trailing SL, is there any other particular post I am missing?

SL trailing happens if price moves before news... (positive or negative). Basic rule: set SL at 0 when your trade is floating....
TP has always been a happy subject of debate... to me it doesn't matter.

understood, Also have you considered forex options? I belive you could benefit greatly from american style options.. i know European style options charge about 11 pips at the worst level (it gets better with more money)

I try drink the 2% or lower beers, as i know im a binge drinker, that way if i drink dozens of bottles its not that im out of it by the end of the night.

Please continue with your observations. ive only started looking at 5 sec charts recently so ive got alot to learn but definitely on board with a few ideas so far

Thanks, analyzing helps to know how pair reacted to News, if it did not reacted or retraced very fast, next day it will move by technicals. But that will be different strategy..
