I am following this thread for quite a while now, in fact it motivated me to finally join the forum here.
I wondered whether it would be ok to still post some past / current trades in here (SSBO only) or whether you would prefer another way to do so.

Posting pics and discussing SSBO strategy is always welcome, so long as you don't expect a quick reply or lots of participants here in the Recycle Bin.

But most important of all, make sure you follow post #1 to the letter! Your template to success is right there on the first page! The only complaining I hear are from guys who pass it over, so let that be a lesson.

Here a short summary of my story;
I trade for more than 7 years now, after I traded all kinds of markets I specialized in FX. I found time box breaks to work well, which led me to search for other box break strategies. So I found the SSBO and was drawn into the approach (as well as the strict policy ;-)).
I read the whole thread (took me ca. 2 weeks back then), I practiced the manual CZ identification, I forward-tested. I started to also use the indicator and I did my homework to find "my" optimal settings for the pairs I trade.
I tried the SSBO live on M15 and it worked great.

Then I did a mistake which FXHard explicitly warned about, I forced the system on a 5m-chart (adjusting the settings) just to get a bit more trades.
I got burned before I realized that while the backtest results can look great, the high spread of some pairs like GBPNZD as well as slippage can actually lead to significantly worse results (and I use DMA) which is the reason why FXHard and the programmers added the "spread function" to the indi (well done!).

So now I am back to the M15 and willing to be patient and wait for the setups to come. I am aware that this means to soemtimes spend some hours waiting for a CZ to close, but as FXHard said, that is part of the game. There is no way around that. So get over it and stay disciplined guys! I will, for sure!

Let me share some observations I made:

- I generally distinguish between "consolidation days" (whereby most markets are in consolidation, this is the majority of days), "news days" (like yesterday and today, where the market waits for significant news to be published) and "trend days" (these are very rare and each trend will have pullbacks byt he way).
- I discovered that often (but not always), news releases lead to breakouts. However, especially when it is news that is not too significant, the breakout can happen just before.
- I observed that sometimes, the price breaks out from the current CZ just to enter an older one (the older one acting like a magnet).
- I share the view that in general terms, slimmer boxes lead to bigger breakouts.
- In fact, and it took me some time to realize it, "headfakes" or however you wan to call these, are not really the major issue. That is what you think at the beginning, but actually, the good risk/return balances some losing trades. Once you hit a good breakout, it can be worth getting stopped out on a small breakout before, even if you do not use martingale rules.
- I personally believe that within CZs, market makers make their money by pushing the price up and down. Now at some point, there are big orders, "forcing" the price to take a direction. Sometimes, market makers can "fight that back into the CZ", but eventually they cannot. Just my theory.
- I love the "binary" nature of a box break. It is incredibly aesthetic!
- It makes sense to pick the take profit in a way that avoids most first pullbacks, which will eventually appear.
- Of course, the EURUSD dominates the FX markets and there is generally strong correlation to the world's biggest market, however, the SSBO allows you to pick the market with the technically "nicest" BO. That is very nice.

Anyways, I will soon post some screenshots showing past and future trades, strictly according to the rules.
Maybe that brings some fresh wind into this awesome thread. However, the idea is to go back to the roots, to page 1!
So actually, there will be nothing new in my pictures.
Anyways, I would appreciate to have some exchange with you guys, because that makes the whole "sniping" process of waiting and shooting more fun as compared to sitting in a room on your own.

first, the good trade of Friday. USDCAD was waiting within a nice CZ until the Canadian news at 14:30.

PS: FXHard, in a situation like the one shown here, did you ever consider to place one limit order on each side of the CZ just before the news (in case that the news are significant like on Friday)?

Then here USDCHF trade from Friday, the breakout appeared well before the news, I was long, unfortunately, I was then stopped out (with a terrible spread & slippage) as you can see.

I therefore decided to not trade breakouts just before news, given that these are significant news.

can anyone?? provide an updated ea for the new version of mt4 for the ssbo

I found that on Mondays, the market often needs to build up some flow so that new CZs can be formed or close....

Here GBPUSD..................also in consolidation................so far 35 barsx 19.7 pips...........

I think the second chart you posted was GBPUSD yesterday......the price got dangerously close to the stop, no? Just turned before ;-)

Today was a slow day.

I waited but did not get any setups. The US jobless claims did not lead to the volatility expected.

But, that is part of the game. There are sessions where you simply cannot trade. For me, this was one of the hardest thing to learn.

It is worth it because there is a good chance that next time one gets rewarded with these beautiful box breaks.....

Good eye. The candle that came after my close candle dipped down to the opposite side of the CZ, but I was already out for maybe 10 or 12 minutes by then. No harm, no foul.
