Experienced an issue while trying to compile Sessions.mq4 (http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...=239188&page=3) its about the mqh function DayNumber, i get : '(' - function definition unexpected (experts/include/hanover --- extensible functions.mqh (6, 14) ) the terminal used is r482 ; and i cant see the solution to fix it.

Hi Hanover, Thank you for sharing your Handy utility functions. I want to save time in coding my custom indicator by using your handy functions. Please give me some specific instructions on how to put your library functions into work. For example, in function PlotText I read : PlotText (objname, delete, window#, time1, price1, text, color, size, font, angle, backg, vis); I don't understand "delete" is what for. Thanks for your help.

Hanover, most, if not all of your function library should work in build 600. I believe there is a bug in the string handling in buld 600+. The attached test script demonstrates the corruption you get when using your string functions. There is a bit of chatter on the mql4 forum about corrupt strings but so far no-one has been able to convince them it's a problem. {image} {file}

IMPORTANT!   If you combine this file with another of David's .mt4 source
  files, then ABSOLUTELY make the following changes using "Replace", while *enabling* options "whole word" and "match case" :
  
   1. Change his use of "StringReplace" to "stringReplaceOld". (lower-case leading "s").  You will likely NOT get any
      compiler error or warning, but the new MT4 function does not behave the same as Davids' does!!
   2. Change "StringSubstr" to "stringSubstrOld", because new MT4 expects different 3rd arument value (-1 instead of 0); and it MIGHT corrupt
      strings if the 2nd argument is unexpectedly <0.  Again, you won't see any compiler error or warning, but make the change!
   3. Change his use of variable name "char" to be "s_char" instead.  Same with any other such keywords. The compiler will give errors until fixed.
   4. Fix all other compiler errors and eliminate warnings if possible, doing whatever needs to be done, then upload your changes to
      David's "utility" thread above.  (...and elsewhere if you so choose).
  The local-variable names below are sometimes the same as global-variable names used.  In general, one can usually ignore warnings that say:
     declaration of 'varname' hides global declaration at line XX,  in File AAA, Line YY, Column ZZ

Nice tooling Hanover, thank you. I've compiled in Mt4 build 600+ some of the string parsing functions but I'm having trouble getting the call format StrToStringArray(str, str, str, str) to process. Anyone have a working example of a build 600 call they might share? Thanks in advance, afp
