Hope its ok to post other ideas on your thread there man.

Something I have been trying: Only my second live trade using this. Extensive backtesting before hand and some demo trading.


Place a buy and sell order before the news at points of stall in price or support / resistance on the hourly chart. I choose a currency that moves alot so if it breaks the area hopefully will achieve some points. Today was AUD interest Rate news...I traded the Eur / Aud.

The sell was placed at 1.5375 or there abouts which is 10 or so points below the stall in price on hourly chart (pink circle)

The buy was placed above the recent high on hourly chart plus 20 points. The sell opened and I got out for 55 points. Only trading small at the moment. Hope to increase as experience grows.

Have seen good results in testing : if you are patient enough to hold till the close of the 1st hourly candle. Take profit or lock some profit and wait till the close of the second hourly bar or longer...its up to the operator.

The same trade could have been taken on Aud - Usd with good results placing a buy order above the stall in price at 0.8820 would have been 20 points at the close of 1st hourly candle or 50 + points at the close of second hourly candle.

I like them, because i trade with pending orders and they automatically put sl and be, manually I couldn' do it, because I enter 12 sec before news.
