They seem to be the rarest breed of traders. Just wondering if anyone know of a successful news trader out there?

spreads will kill trades before spike, pressing liquidity and widen spreads are real problems for news trader

Depends what you mean by news traders. If you mean trading the actual releases, then not many but if you mean fundamental traders then quite a few i'm sure. Kathy Liun has experience trading news releases.
