ok, long story short: bar highs and lows represent obstacles along the way of the price, so basically, the less there are the smoother price should move. when trading a bar in traffic, you have to reassess, at each bar high / low the price finds on its way, whether price get through or reverse against you..Depending on how price behave as well as the general picture (confluence? break out? trend? ...) , you may take full or partial profit, reduce your exposure, etc...

I agree with you but weekly engulf makes me doubt.
for the swing traders in here/out there.... looking for pinbars or BUEOB on the weekly/daily at demand level to buy this baby.

price continued to squeeze down and we got great PA to trigger

Reduced 80% of my risk pretty quick near that FTA

Hi all,

This is my first post. I've spent the past month reading the first 300 pages in detail, after finding this thread from reading the trader_dante pinbar thread over on trade2win.

First off, as a newcomer to forex and trading ( since about Nov last year ), the things I have learnt from this forum are amazing. I am currently running my first demo account and am 219 pips up this month( just closed a nice 127 pip long on cable long this morning ). This is all from strictly following the rules I have learnt in the first 300 pages of this forum.

Amazing to see mbqb11 still on this thread 7 years later! Anyone else still around - razldazl? the_wizard? SeekingLight? and of course james16?Strange, but feel I know everyone after filling my past month with this thread, reading during any spare moment I have!

Anyway - I have a general question. Is it worth reading the whole thread - I mean from where I'm up to, 300, right up to here? Worked out it will take me a few years to do so Or do I have most of the beef already, and it would be more worth my while to join proceedings now in the present day?

Hey mate,

With risk to be 'boo'-ed by the seniors, I will recommend not to read the whole thread. yes there are many many many useful posts, but there's also lot's of clutter. Instead, here's what I would do:

1. Find the users that seem to be most credible. This is biased view, but you can start with mbqb11, ghous, jarrooo... james16 of course, and go to their profiles. If not reading all of their posts, you can at least go through the graphs they've posted. Quite useful.
2. Up in the header of the thread you can see all the files that have been uploaded. Go there and sort them by downloads. You will find many useful summaries and what else.
3. Also you can go through the guest material of the group here - http://james16group.us/Guests/guestmaterial.html

Thanks Raitchev - good suggestion. I was thinking along those lines - but am worried I would get things out of context, and also miss some of the stuff by credible posters that hadn't appeared by the 300 page ( 20 posts/page = 6000 posts ). For example, I haven't come across ghous or jarrooo yet - thanks for the names.

So if you or anyone else has some more names of good posters in this thread I should hunt out, it would be much appreciated.

And then of course, if the thread big balls come in and insist I should read the WHOLE thread to get the full benefit, then I will do that. I'm not looking for short cuts, just the most effectual use of my time.

what I personally do is skimming through few posts / pages a day, skipping most of the blahblah a public thread inevitably has.
I've found a few gems doing so.

Then I came to the conclusion that reading is ok, but practicing is better I'm not close to the end either...

What concerned me was that maybe over the past few years since this thread has started, that the practices outlined in the early posts are now redundant or suboptimal. I'm assuming this isn't the case, as we are simply dealing with price, and not a system?

There is a BEOB developing on monthly USD/JPY. I'm keeping it on my radar as bar is about to close, could possibly develop into a tradable setup. Any comments guys:

I've been following and learning from this thread off and on since Fall 2012. I've decided that I'm going to keep consistent with my learning from here on out and regularly ask questions on this thread. I look forward to this journey with some old-timers and newbies.
here is an idea. why don't james16 and mike publish the number of people that have "learned" the method and are succeding with it and the number of people that were not meant for it?

I think number of traders here says for itself. I personally don't need any proof of profitability. Try it and you will see whether it works for you. And does it matter if they are profitable or not if it helps you?
