{quote} I agree sir. I was just asking because of the "huge?" amount I noticed on your screen capture. Your MM is great - it's, in fact, even less "riskier" than the BTS recommended 10.6% or so. Thanks for your response, Ty

Ty you are WRONG,

I recommended 5.6% risk on any account. and that is why I said:

on 1000 USD 0.01 x 14 x 40 = 56 USD which is 5.6% of the account @560 pips
...
on 10,000 USD 0.10 x 14 x 40 = 560 USD which is 5.6% of the account @560 pips

to loose your account totally, you have to loose like 17 times consecutively no single winner. [it is possible in FX but am yet to see it happen]

that is why am still around since 2010 doing BTS live!

I understand you sir BUT am simply referring to those who would start with a MINIMUM account size of $500 (some can only afford that you know). I just forgot to mention the starting balance above so sorry about that. That is where the 10% thingy came from. And also from posts like these:

That is my own recommendation anyway; you are free to come up with yours. Julius recommended 1 Mini lot on a $5000 account - that is risking over 10% (too risky for me).

So sorry about the mix up o jare.

Ty

May I suggest that we use that IXAOH V2 indie so that we won't need to be asking what XO size is this or that?

Reason: IF what you are using here now is 1060 then wahala dey o - it doesn't look it at all. Neither is it 3280. Plus it's om your H4.

Nice BE though.

It's all good sir. I also use 1060 but the screenshots of your initial image looked a tad different - I was just saying that we should use an XO indie that prints its size on screen NOT that your IXOAH was not authentic o.

i -- I look at both Index's the USD and JPY to see if they are in sync with each other. If they are not then I trade accordingly.
ii -- Typically I trade the H4 timeframe and the daily. I like to see both in agreement.
iii -- Same settings as Kos. I do like to use Channels plus Support and Resistance areas to sometimes get a jump on the entry.

I make two offline charts. One is what I call the USD Index and that includes all 7 USD pairs. Then I do the same for the 7 JPY pairs and call that my JPY Index. I use H4 and Daily charts so I will have 4 charts total to look at. Then I look at the Daily to see if the trend of both the USD and JPY are the same. I do the same for the H4 as well. If they are trending in the same direction then I will take the whole 14 pair basket(Basket14). If they are not then I will take them in opposite directions. There are alot of times that they will not trend together and you will see the value of the Basket14 be very week in pips and the reason why is because the USD and JPY are not trending together or as I call it "in sync". I still use my old excel sheet as well with a few mod's to show this as well and helps confirm what the charts are telling me. Keep in mind I have been doing basket trading since 2009 and there are some things you will learn you just cant explain. You just have to see it. For example, if you track the monthly pip gain of the Index's you get a feel for how far they like to travel. This is when the excel sheet comes in handy. Currently for the month I have the JPY's at -1275 pips and the USD's -552 pips for the month. To me that's not really in sync so I most likely will trade the USD and JPY separately. At one point the JPY's were at -3k pips for the month and the month has just started. That's when I stated the JPY's will turn sooner or later with the pic of my trades.

I've noticed it doesn't work for me either, but if I want to set BE where I am, I'll load up a new v2.3 script and just tell the script where I want it to BE. So for .19 lot size my BE is set to 300 pips or $57.00, once that is hit my lock value which is $2 or 10 pips is set. But say I wanted to set BE at $35, I'll just change the settings in the script and reload it on the chart. It works pretty well, not as fast as dragging the "Set to Break Even", but it gets the job done.

Latest long was taken out at BE this morning. A winner in my book. Now waiting for a reentry from the 1060 XO, or a short.

i don't get it, as far i understand

breakevenatvalue : $50 which means that basket profit must reach $50 first before automatically initiate breakeven (lockvalue?)

lockvalue : $2 ( is this profit for total of 14 pair or each pair?)
Slow and Steady!

Yeah, so these are my settings for that. I just set $2, or 10ish pips just so I at least make a little bit and it doesn't end up negative a couple of pips as the script is closing each individual position.

And it's the profit for the total 14 pair, or BE, which is set once the total 14 pair basket reaches 300 pips.
