I don't have that kind of money, nor do I trade for a living. I am here to learn. I was just stating some things I have read, I thought to have merit.

I believe you to have a good thread here and has a great chance of providing some solid and fundamental trade concepts and realistic goals, by people who have or currently are trading as a primary source of income.

With this being said, you have allowed a troll to go on for too long now.

With a quick flip back through the pages, I would think it readily apparent that you have both requested some posters to stop, while they continue to destroy the essence of what you have created.

From a long time member of FF, and as a suggestion, you may want to find full use of the Ignore feature at FF. Not only will this allow you to not have to see tripe posted by certain members, but will actually remove their ability to post in this thread.

With the few here that are trying to glean some information, the quality of posting has gone spiralling downward and they will do to this thread what they have done to so many others. Turn it into, what was a good idea, but ultimately a dead thread.

As somebody who trades for a living, I am actually offended by the continued rants of the feeble minded wannabes and hate to see this taking it's toll on what does stand a chance at being a great benefit to FF.

For the sake of others, hit the button, dude.

I am not sure how many, but many people join forums like FF after doing their homework on currency market lasting from a day to several decades. At first, they believe they already know 90% of what is there to learn and almost everyone of them thinks that they have discovered a Holy Grail of which no one else has slightest idea. Most forget to realize that these forums are very deep and do attract world's top class traders. When these and other less skilled traders like me try to guide inexperienced traders on right path and provide logic, it interfers with their self-ego. This alone tells that these new traders have yet to work too hard to get to the place they think they already are. No professional ever under-estimates his/her opponent and is always ready to learn more and new. Sometimes, a professional has to throw away decades of research and hard work and start afresh after learning something that indicates his/her basics are not right.

It is disappointing to see how some people blindly follow a thought or a method or a trading principle which is obviously not true and even a 5th grader can prove it wrong. But they keep on fooling themselves only because if they accept the fact, it shatters their dreams. If they only do some work and rationally think about many great posts here, they can not only keep their dreams but many of them may turn these dreams into reality.

Your and my job is to repay this forum what we gained from it and save some from going through all the pain and hardships we went through and tears we shed. You can take a mule to water but cannot make it drink.

Very honestly I'm not interested in managing a thread that starts to burst outside the boundaries for which it was created. I already have two kids and do not wish to babysit extra time... I'll give it a one last shot, only because we do already have some excellent posts here, many different points of view but all still valid, so I am certain that top FF forex traders do come lurking around (even if only for a good laught). The ideia was to get them to share a few tips in order to pick their mind and bring something meaninful to the forum. This was a risky venture because, out of lack of interest or the need to, pros won't feel like posting here unless there's something that catches their interest (like... other pros gathering around and sharing their tips too). Unless you're selling some sort of "educational" package, if you're at a top level you will not talk to newbies about what you're doing... simply because they will not understand you. At least, that's what I see happening in all fields (trading, business, sports, etc).

Because a thread "written" by pros would definitely take some time to build up (or most probably never even happen), I'm not surprised that things would eventually deviate from the main topic. It's ok as long the rants are within a certain level of respect and good manners.

Anyway, I hope we can get back on the right track for the sake of those here who are seeing the light and would definitely appreciate the words of wisdom from someone who is slightly ahead of us.

Remember, dreaming is good, being focused is vital. Respecting each others dreams and helping each other to achieve it might also be a nice thing to do... we might even learn one thing or two in the process.

this is supposed to be an encouraging thread.

I have no idea what Maggie advised you [don't see his posts], though, wouldn't rely on him about 'push the button' thing. As, you know, he recently pushed one and got his ass kicked for that [polite version: was suspended]. Well, I ignore him now - I wouldn't rely on him about anything anyway...

And, tradista, I wonder what do you think about those unfounded statements that are, let alone wrong, simply based on nothing? Or you're for that 'opinion' thing - 'say whatever you want no matter evidence's saying otherwise'?

The "ignore" button is what was suggested and, as I wrote previously, I will start using it with any member that is not putting the effort to be polite and constructive about the topics related to the thread.
I still think the idea behind the thread has value so I will make a go to try and push it forward a little bit more.

About your question, I basically think that everybody is right in what they say and believe. The elusion of the markets, it seems to me, allows for that to be. That is why I do believe i can make my 15% per month because that's what I'm working on, both at the skills and psychological levels. Of course, if I wouldn't believe it deeply inside, I wouldn't be able to make it. OTOH, I do believe when someone affirms very strongly that it's not possible, basically what he's saying is that in HIS MIND he could not achieve it himself. I won't even try to defend my point because it doesn't make sense to the other person.

Money is a purely psychological thing, so the way we relate to it determines what we can achieve in the finantial markets. I don't really care what others believe, I only care about my own beliefs and how I can change them to better suit my goals. I don't need proof of anything from others because I'm not trying to make any point, only finding what reasonates with me.
