Well I have been short since early morning a few hours before the trade balance report. I was bearish and still am. Thankfully I don't day trade. I have large stops set on my trade so this little dance the Aussie is doing has not affected me.

I am however curious as to why it is dancing it's ways up. I use two social trading sites and both show most positions on Aussie and Kiwi as long's.... What the hell am I missing, what are these people buying?

Your posts made us panic for a while, but you are lucky buddy, to escape unhurt.

Normally the market do not show mercy, I believe others and myself have been there. The key is to start small, choose mini or micro lot if needed, and let your account grow. Market is always there for you, don't have to rush into it. Protective stops are important for you to continue with your game.

I have learnt that thru the hard and painful way too.

I'm buying the aussie intraday at 9015 looking for 90 -100 pips.. on the short side at the moment.. took it up to 50 and exited as was planning 67 but seen hesitation so got out and jumped short with some confirmation.. but want to exit around 9015 then long for 100 pips Will stop at pit points on the wqay being 9073 retrace too 9038 then onto 9095 retrace too 9060 then up to 9112/16 and am out at that stage looking to short then at least back too 9040/50 area but it could go lower low and that's what I will be planning dependant how the charts look later

AUD/USD has recovered into the $0.9040 area after it touched a new low of $0.9000 yesterday. Aussie dipped a little in the Asian session as data showed Australia trade deficit widened to 529M (prior -284M) in October.

Damn. When I first started trading I was "trying" to trade like this. If your actually pulling it off successfully then my respects to you. I could never do it. Had to blow up a few accounts until I realized trying to maximize pips through this trading style isn't for me.

today the bad data didn't drive the aud lower as expected (by me)
it may indicate that the oversold is really oversold, and the next down movement would be very volatile. if not mostly in the form of spikes.
which means, it is a good area to scalp.
