Has anyone done any research on this topic by chance? I'm interested to know if the 15 mins after 4 when /ES closes is at all important for determining the next day's direction.

A 5% drop in the S&P would take it back below 1,700. I could see that happening by the end of the year if we get something disruptive out of the FOMC on 12/18. SDS returns inverse 300% the S&P moves so a 15% move in SDS would take it to near $36.5. SDS closed today at $31.73.

Long Jan 18 $37 calls @ $0.22, would watch and sell nearer otm weekly calls, spreading to reduce the debit

I just bought back the 100s at a small profit.....and to think I thought they'd be expiring worthless. they still probably will.
only in 91.50 puts now.....everything else is flat but beans.
tomorrow another day.

HPQ finishes AH @ $27.95. With just a drip of luck it will bid beyond my $28c strike early Wednesday, proving I am a genius. Clock ticking though, scalp trade supposed to be done in a day has dragged into a week. Need to sell the calls and move on....

Dec 21 $12/$16 strangle on PBR is $0.11, $17/$12 for Jan18 is $0.24.

Today's closes on indexes are so important, lower closes could mean an accelerated fall before NFP is due out

shit sure is volatile.
im considering eminis
but a huge part of me is considering waiting. after the market tricks me up a touch I find it most therapeutic to choose to do nothing.
I will find that hard with crude exp only 9 days away and the thought of easy money might trick me.....but since I have naked puts sold I will at least write the calls deep otm and try to get some money that way
I had on a lot of positions there.....thank god for the puts and the new puts......and thank god for fear,.....cause that coulda been baaaaaad

HPQ >$28.50, sold the calls for $1.00, puts worthless, (strangle bought for $0.52 sold for $1.00).....looking for my next fix...

trying to milk the last juice out of my TSLA spread. I have 12/13 short $106 puts against 12/21 $100p long. Trying to buy back $106p for $0.08, sold for $0.60....need the junkies to buy a few million shares. Then would sell 12/13 $119p for $0.30-$0.40. If that held it would put me ahead about $0.75 in the whole process, + whatever is left in the $100p after 12/13. Missed my best profit chance probably last week when TSLA dipped to $116, but I'm not complaining....

....did it, bought back 12/13 $106p for $0.08, now watching for the last short put leg...

re-strangling the 91.50 put with a 100.50 call pretty cheap....not heavy volume....around $150 each while the puts are worth $130 each.

instead of longing puts I've opened a position of long $49 call on Facebook FB for Fridays expiration at 20c or 20$ per contract, this is because of a bounce and that we may enter a xmas rally. Facebook was trading around $47.69 when I got the option now its at $47.94
