Hello hanover As I see no way of reaching you through PM, i will post my small request here. As far as I know you could have a pretty large collection of tools, eas, indis etc. I am looking for an ea that sets the stop of every trade on a particular pair to brake-even after X ammount of pips that i have predefined. The EA has to set a broker sl and it has to do that on every single trade that is opened on that particular pair, but it has to be able to work on other pairs also. For example I attach the EA on EURJPY and set 60pip sl and i also attach another same ea on EURUSD at 50pip and it must move every EURJPY open order to be at 60pip profit, and every eurusd order after 50pip. I may not be good at explanations but it is must be a very simple ea and you surely have somethin similar. Looking forward to hear from you, thanks

I turned PMs off because I was getting too many programming requests, and I couldn't answer them all.

I don't know if I understand you correctly. Perhaps you're saying that you need an EA that simply moves SL to BE when a trade is in profit by a specified number of pips. Then you attach this EA to a EURUSD chart with the specified number set to 50, and also attach it to a EURJPY chart with the specified number set to 60, etc etc. Is that what you mean?

Absolutely right you got me, but it has to do that on all the positions, because i trade more than one position on every pair. It has to apply the rule to all opened positions on the specific pair to which it has been attached. And I need different value for the different pairs, for example 60 pips for EURUSD , but 45pips for EURJPY, it does not matter if a single EA can monitor everything or I have to attach separate ea to every chart pair, as long as there is no conflict between them. I was sure that there are some similar eas out there on the forum, but most of them have so much tweaks and functions that i get really confused using them in my trading. Thanks hanover

Hi hanover.

I PM'd you but I just noticed you have stopped taking PM's. I am looking for a custom candle indi that draws yearly, monthly and weekly candles as an overlay on lower TF charts. For example, yearly candles on monthly charts, monthly candles on weekly charts etc. I have asked the forum to edit my custom candle indicator

No problem mate, I understand. I actually just checked the latest version and it supports weekly and monthly candles. The old version used to say "TF higher than D1 not supported". Unfortunately it still doesn't support yearly overlay. I will just have to keep drawing them by hand

Depends what you mean by "order flow". It seems to mean different things to different people.

If you accept Darkstar as being the #1 authority, then reading his book is probably a good start to gaining some insight (synopsis here). And if you have read DS's book, then you probably know about as much as I do.

I assume by my 'cluster' indicator you mean Recent Strength? If so, and by divergence, you mean one currency making a higher low, while another makes a lower high, then the answer is no, I haven't tried it. Interesting idea, though.

I'm currently experimenting with EAs to do the latter, maintaining a watch for me while I'm asleep (I live in New Zealand, GMT+13). Hope all of that makes sense.

If you want one line showing each pair, then I think FiatFap's software may be a possible solution (screenshot here). Looks like the software been moved to the commercial area, but it still appears to be free.

Thank you for the answer, very gracious as usual.
Yes, I meant the strength indicator.
I try to explain the best I can: The russian guy that created the CCFP indicator, also has created a derivative of that indicator called CFP, the CPF indicator, only shows a line which represent the relation of one pair instead of the all cluster one, with one line only it is much more easier in spotting divergence with price. When the indicator (the line) is above "0" shows the strength of one currency over the other and viceversa….
Not sure if you would find this important for your trading…. just a thought

Same way I trade now, using sonic r strategy to confirm trend and entries on m15. closest thing to holy grail imho.

There are zillions of third party MT4 indicators out there (see post #1 of this thread for a list of sources), and Joe Ross' work is well known, so Ross Hook has probably already been done. Try a forum search, both here and forex-tsd.com
Otherwise, post in one of the 'I code your indicator for free' threads, hopefully a programmer will help you.

Hanover, I am trying to learn to code a dashboard with alerts. The dashboard would tell me when two stochastics are above 80 or below 20 on a basket of symbols. I have progressed to being able to code simple indicators for a single chart and put alerts on them, but am lost when it comes to a dashboard. Can you point me to a manual or something that would teach me how to do this?

I am attaching a dashboard that you helped work on before. I am trying to make it alert when the fast and slow stoch values exceed 80 or fall below 20. I can get it to alert on the current chart, but it will not recognize any of the other symbols in the dashboard.........

It seems straightforward, but I am clearly missing something.....

I dislike trying to decipher other programmer's code. Usually it's simpler for me to code something myself. However, I'm frenetically busy with other projects at the moment.

Alas, there aren't too many MQL4 tutorial resources out there, at least that I'm aware of. One exception is Jim Dandy's video course. There are some links in this thread also. And here's an old list of links that I collected a long time ago (don't know how many of them are still valid):

About the 'Mr Monopoly' avatar:
Back in 1992 I was lucky enough to win the New Zealand MONOPOLY championship, and an expenses paid ticket to represent NZ at the world champs in Berlin. It's about the only thing I've ever won in my life, LOL. Just for fun, I posted some Monopoly info here. However, there's way too much luck in Monopoly to make it a personal favorite game. I haven't played it for many years now. But I thought Mr Monopoly would make a fun avatar — after all, he's in the business of making money, which is what forex is all about.

About wisdom:
I'm a programmer, not a professional forex trader. Forex is the most complex market, IMO, and the most difficult to trade profitably (although I'm sure there are others who exploit the way that it's manipulated by the banks, and thus make a handsome living from it). And I certainly don't claim to be wise. Perhaps my gaming background has taught me some basic probability math, but that's all. I believe in the infallibility of math and logic (and I'm surprised by the number of FF members who apparently don't!), but I never took math beyond high school.

Thank goodness FF has discarded the vouching system. Having 70+ vouches was a complete embarrassment to me.

Thanks for the links. What I have been doing is taking open source code and learning to read it. That how I learned to code for simple single chart indicators. I have been searching high and low for an open source dashboard so I can look and see how they did it, but no luck, not yet. Thanks for responding to me.

Some people say that we should learn C ++ if we want to get good at mql4, would you recommend this, or should I stick my original plan? It seems that coders drive the factory. Without you guys we could not express whatever scheme we use to beat a rigged market.
