Yes, I agree. We need to close above the line for the bulls to get more aggressive.
Still not bearish though until we close below the support area.

The $ had a good day so gold and silver tanked. Funny silver tanked more percent-wise. It was a good idea to use options. The futures for these markets are treacherous. Good luck with them. I have a trade that is not going anywhere at the moment as well. Long Feb lean Hogs.

I posted this chart earlier today on a different thread. For me, the bulls remain in charge until the 4H swing point @ 1.6313 is broken. No downside swing-point has broken since this rally began around 1.5853. There's a larger support @ 1.6258.

I agree Srt. One thing though the $ is also starting to get overbought. Check out the usdcad, usdsgd, audusd, nzdusd etc. Hence my trade plan to sell a break of the trend line. I an hoping that if the euro was going to go up it would do so straightaway and not take out hte trendline

Seems every time I look at the US $ chart, nothing is too clear to me. Looking at the weekly chart, we're slightly below a flip of support/resistance @ 81.50 and I think over the longer-term the US $ is heading lower. When does that happen ? I don't know.

There's a clear big impulsive leg up on that weekly, which has morphed into a bull flag over the last few weeks. Price looks ready to bust out of it any day now.
Seems to me that fundamentally and technically the path of least resistance is up for the dollar.
Furthermore that leg up broke a wedge that took a good few months to form.
The U.S. I think despite all its critics is still a powerhouse of an economy, and it's being underpinned by an absolutely humungous competitive advantage re the cost of energy. Cheaper natural gas, cheaper oil. Probably cheaper everything LOL. I think this could be the beginnings of a very good bull rally in the $. There will be pullbacks of course. They will try to jawbone it lower. But think, all that fooking QE, Op Twist and the rest of it, Helicopter Ben, wrangles over the debt ceiling, and it's still up there, at 81, gone nowhere for the past year. In fact, it's gone UP since mid last year. What does that tell you? Even with fooking shitloads of QE the $ has not really taken any bullets. Teflon $.

Excellent analysis Boy Wonder. The above is reasons you laid out is the very reason I am the secretary of the Dollar Bulls League
The fact that they tried to push it lower - Jawboning, QExxxxx. More upside to come imho...

this thing of overbought costed me a lot as I was bearish $ for that reason. I totally agree with Olu and Boy wonder, I wish I have seen the things as they did that time...now I am a member of the the Dollar Bulls League till the league looses the first match
By the way anyone knows why Oil went higher when $ went up and silver and gold went down? Could it be an early warning that the 81 resistance (that worked as a weak support in August) will hold a bit?
