Spekulant, So we are back to square one. I appreciate your willingness to help. So I make a request again to the very helpful programmers that we have here. Please let me know if one can programme an indicator as I mentioned in my previous request. We can all benefit from testing this. Thank you.

Rafiki,
Try to have a look at http://sohocool.over-blog.com/
I don't guarantee anything but you'll find some ichimoku stuff coded in languages other than mql. And Sohocool can be found here at FF if you need him/her.

Hi Koopa,

Thank you for your help. I have asked a programmer friend to help me out, it will take him a while as he has a young family and is in between jobs but will get done.

Hello,

I post the chinkou candles indicator .

The chinkou span is the price shifted to the left.

The price is composed of the opening, close, hight, low.

Therefore is better to represent Chinkou span with a price candle.

I think this indicator facilitates the understanding of Chinkou span.

Hi everyone who is still reading this thread...
Normally at this point I would thank topicstarter for a wonderful thread, but it seems Vic has left us, a pitySo I thank everyone who is still posting here!
Ok, I'll post a trade according to original rules:
GBP/JPY on 4H is above cloud
On 1H is above cloud
On 30 min is above cloud
On 15min is above cloud
On 5min is above cloud and a cross of TenkanSen and Kijun has occurred and chikouSpan is above price, - all requirements are filled. I'm doing standard 50pips TP with standard SL- at the bottom of the cloud.

It would be great, if someone who continues to practice original method (which is outlined on first pages) would comment...
Good luck

EDIT: PS
and I use 25pips trailing stop (in addition to hard TP mentioned earlier), as Vic recommended, so after the initial +25pips move I'll move to BE.

Wow my SL was hit! And After all the talks about how the method has an extra-high success rate I can't help but feel myself a superloser - to hit SL on a first time

Hi PipThinker,

I think as a newbie you are trading a currency pair that even skilled veterans have difficulty trading. You should try the USDJPY pair.

After looking through the charts, your entry was a little late, and your stop loss was too small (esp for the Geppy). A 2:1 ratio, you needed to make at least 50 pips to make the trade worthwhile. The Chikou-span was "stuck" inside the price, so that should have been an indicator not to get in the trade.

There are some great books out there that could help you with the Ichimoku trading.

Hope that helps.

Good Luck.

Hello Smtm!

You're right about pairs - I've deleted every pair except EUR/JPY (thread founder thought it's well suited for his method).

As for entry - it was right after the cross (big white candle before the entry - is the candle upon which the cross had happened). BUT! It'd be great if I was in a trade at the previous cross of course.. On the other hand, Vic was totally alright with reentries, as long as they were made through the "strong signal", which sadly does not apply to my trade... - Since, as you've mentioned, ChikouSpan was off!:nerd:

And as for SL, in the beginning of the thread (where I'm still now) it's recommended to place it below the cloud, although you certainly right about RR ratio..

Anyway big thanks for your response

Ok, another trade, this time - a winner! TP=50, SL ~25 (below the cloud). All higher TFs were on the same side of the cloud, and this is rather rare, I got the impression, sometimes trades in this thread were made when only two higher TFs are aligned, and for the two remaining (the highest) - it's enough if they don't pose an immediate and severe threat. I think it's because it'd take a really long time for highest TFs to align (1H could take 3 days to change a side of cloud) - and that would compromise the initial premise : "a trade every day from a single pair"... EDIT: I've just reread first page and found an answer, stupid me... - two higher is enough and two highest are mostly for reference concerning SR levels, as they presented by ichi...

Any comments would be welcome!

Why this thread is in "commercial content" anyway? I've read first 46 pages and so long nobody selling anything... Not that I'm complaining

Hmm, I just got StopLossed on 1m EUR/JPY...
RR was 1:3, so it's ok, will succeed next time... I guess

One thing that starts to worry me with this method, - there's a lot less deals, that threadStarter thought. I.e. from my last trade there was almost a week, and I couldn't find a single trade on 5min EUR/JPY, that would satisfy requirements. There was 5min full buy signal but on 1H price was pushing into cloud top, so I didn't took it (it turns out to be a loss hehe).

Hope this trade frequency problem is more of a temporary flux.

Hi Sohocool

Firstly, thank you very much for all your amazing indicators, many on which I use.

Chikou Span is the most important part of the Ichimoku System for me and I only trade when there is no candle body between Chikou Span and the current candle. But this means long hours in front of the computer as I have not been able to find an indicator that specifically meets this requirement. The closest is your indicator - #Soho Chinkou vs Kumo Histo. But this only helps for situations where price is above/below Kumo.

Not sure if this is technically possible, but is it possible to change your indicator so that it changes to bearish/bullish only when there is no candle body between Chikou Span and the current candle. I have tried to show a few examples in the attached image. The position of the Kumo is not a primary concern here - but like else where in the system, signal above/below the Kumo tend to be the strongest.

I would also take this opportunity to thank all the people involved in this thread - I have learnt a huge amount here. Better than all the books.

Thanks for your time

Hello Sohocool,

I believe I have found an idea on Ichomoku ( 15 mins ) to make good pips daily if you can program an alert. Please contact me directly at [email protected] and I will explain more.

Thank you.
