Now that I see the channel, my loss starts to make more sense... however in my defense, it's impossible to spot every channel on each time frame. If you look at the 1hr chart that I took the trade from ( http://www.forexfactory.com/attachme...4&d=1384463623 ), what was wrong with that entry, judging only from that one chart? ---- Also on that chart above, you could have just as easily drawn an up-slopping fork..why didn't you? thanks.

Really? You are going to make excuses? Losses happen, move on. Would've, could've, should've will leave you broke. Learn from the experience. You are trading against the very best not just where you live, but in the world. Don't ever think there is a secret elixir other than many hours of hard work that will allow you to compete with them.
I am not sure what your fascination is with a/r lines, but until you understand the basic principles of price and market structure, they will not help you nor will median lines. Without this foundation, you might has well toss a coin (or use fibonacci). Know the phases of the market and being able to idenify the current phase would benefit you much more than knowing if you are technically correct on the use of a median line or a/r lines. Just because I can play a middle C on the piano does not make me a pianist nor being able to play a few chords on a guitar make me a guitarist.
For what it is worth, my simple advice to you is to take some time to observe the markets, study them. Learn to understand what phase a market is in before you just throw some tools at a chart and hope to get a few pips.
You asked why I did not include the median line set in the middle of the range...because it was in the middle of the range. It may have been useful on a smaller time frame, but not for the time frame I was looking at. This is what I would be looking at if I where trading this pair:

Without drawing them and trading them, I'll never learn how to use them.
I've been trying like crazy to learn this stuff for the past few years, and it's close to impossible. The only thing close I have to a mentor are the limited videos Tim has posted on YT (which are over a year old btw) I also have some of his pdf's from medianline.com
If you want to send me a video link or pdf that shows me how to identify these phases, then I will do my best to figure it out.
So what do I do in this situation?? AJ has hit the top of that 4hr channel, but if I sell short, I'm shorting against the bullish median line on the 1hr.. {image}

it zoomed in the median line as what ive read it will revisit the ML and will continue the bullish trend....
