for those chasing the pips then the GBP/NZD has a classic inverse H & S pattern that looks stronger than the NZ/US pair. 500+ pips available if the the formation plays out

hah. im targetting 0.77, but consider that bets are on rates rising - crazy to even consider but Mr Wheeler keeps on harping on about it. I short every new high.
Even the worst trade can close with profit. Just give it time.

They are both a threat.

The LVR (Load to Value Ratio) restrictions they have put in place will help alleviate the housing issue without having to raise rates. Canada did that last year and it worked wonders. So scratch that rate hike expectation from your calendar. The Fed will taper before that has a chance of happening.

As for the dairy industry, seeing as how they are quite leveraged with massive debt, a rate hike will seriously hurt the industry. Again, scratch that rate hike off your calendar... ain't happenin.

Yes everybody needs food no matter how the economy is performing, but in most asian countries (That's where NZ's powdered and long life milk products go), convenience milk is a luxury they can do without if push came to shove. Besides, every country has their own domestic fresh milk which is much cheaper and better than what NZ sends them. Add to that a strong Kiwi and it hurts it even more.

The Kiwi speculative bull is overdone. It's time for a reality check now. But then so is the speculative bull in the global equity markets and yet up and up it goes.

Something's got to give, and when it does, watch out below coz it aint gonna be pretty.

From a technical PA perspective, the neck line of the H/S formation just got a good piercing. That my friend is a sign. Don't ignore it.

Well I'd have to agree with the above, it still would have been nice to see a close below the neckline on the 4HR. What has done it for me was the action taken by banks to increase the cost of higher LVR loans. This is in itself is a rate hike to calm the sector without actually raising rates. So it shows the RBNZ's willingness to do something but without actually affecting the greater scheme of things.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see if 1.13 holds tonight. I'm already up 20 pips on my AUDUSD long so lets hope we see a decoupling of the AUD and NZD n our favour, pretty soon of course these rollover rates are adding up

I can't be bother reading all thoses things that anyway I would interpret in a bad way.

There are so much clues left on charts to guess where market is heading.
