Thanks for visiting the thread Trexy123. The technicals of nzd are similar to other commodity currencies like the aud and cad. They are currently weakening against the $. NZD even came out with some bad fundys recently so their interest rate might not be going up as originally thought. So below is my long term outlook.

FXCM $ index: Will the break of the upper boundary of the down channel fails and therefore bears will get back in control? I still did not sell majors.

The usd us short term overbought and therefore I am expecting a retracement. For now though I do not expect a deep deep deep retracement back to former lows. We'll see how it goes...

Nope Went the other way...again. I was just an click away from committing money short. While I was looking for a trend line break the market did a trend line bounce

Dangerous to short when fundamentals are so bullish even if the technicals are showing a little weakness. Cocoa has very bullish fundamentals though some is obviously in the chart already. I took a small bullish position last week.

Same with coffee. It may seem low & at times showed signs it might want to swing higher, the fundamentals are very bearish. The stockpiles are 70% higher than normal & south America just harvested another large crop.

Thanks for the comments Srt. I was lucky there. that 2650 line will become significant later imho. I put up my statement so that other traders can see where I went wrong. I was stalking a fall (break) but the market was going up (bounce). We learn every day...

TLTs - my fundamental view
(ISHARES 20+ YEAR TREASURY BOND etf)

This etf is a representation or proxy for bonds. As this etf falls the interest yield in bonds rise.
As US yields rise:
so does the usdjpy
US real interest rates have to go up

I don't like the look of the action in cocoa after the strong move up. If support doesn't hold, probably lower prices ahead even though fundamentals are strong.

High impact grain report out tomorrow so lots of fireworks :-)
